my heart was racing fast, almost beating out of my chest. i just got cast in the umbrella academy. it wasn't a big role as i was only needed in one episode- the whole thing was gonna be about ben. more like young ben. i was cast as his love interest. in the scene, Reginald Hargreeves scolded him for not paying attention in training so he went out of the house to 'escape'... only for a day. his character and mine are supposed to bump into each other and meet. we talk blah blah blah and then we hang out for the whole day. and then at the end of the scene we kiss.

today is my first day on the job. lol that sounds weird. i just wanted to be in the movies and say 'on the job'. anyways. it was the first day of filming but were filming the kissing scene first. weird and unfortunately coincidental. the first time i was gonna come onto set, i had to kiss my celebrity crush.

the car ride on the way to set had ended. i practiced my speech on what i was gonna day when i meet everyone

'Wow, everyone here looks better in person.'
'Robert Sheehan, you do crack me up.'
but it all went blank as i walked up to the opening doors. i am going to be on a famous netflix original. this time last year, i was watching it and now i'm gonna be in it. i've always wondered what it's like to be on the other side of the tv.
i walked in and i'm guessing the assistant producer introduced me to everyone. first it was Ellen Page, omd she so sweet, then i got introduced to Emmy Raver-Lampman, her teeth are so white tf. after i got introduced to all of the older cast, the assistant took me to meet the younger cast, they all gathered at Ethan's trailer. i was about to see the boy i was going to kiss in the next 10 seconds. i've always seen him in edits or just on instagram posts but i never thought i would actually meet him in real lyfe. she opened the door and 5 kids turned around and looked at me. of course, i recognised them the moment the door swung open
'where's ethan?' the assistant asked. 'oh he's just getting some food he'll be here in a second.' 'oh alright, well you guys all have a scene in about 20 minutes except y/n and ethan. take some time to know each other and then someone will come get you guys.' Cameron, Dante, Eden, Tj and Blake nodded and i just stood there awkwardly and smiled. she shut the door and they all turned to face to face me. 'So you're Ethan's love interest huh?' Eden said as she giggled and smirked, she signalled for me to sit next to her. i was walking towards the sofa until someone said 'yes she is.' i turned to my right and saw ethan. my cheeks quickly turned a deep red color as he came up to me. 'it's nice to meet you.' he said as he spread his arms to hug me. 'yeah you too' i shyly replied. 'so what do you wanna do for 20 minutes' blake said. 'why don't we just spend some time to get to know each other' Ethan said as he pulled out bags and bags of doritos and haribos everyone cheered and sat on the sofa.
we all talked for a bit. i actually got comfortable really quickly. first we talked about everyone in the show and how busy it is, also how -after a days work- they would all go to the boba shop next door.
'i'm sorry but anyone who doesn't get tapioca pearls are basic, i don't want none of that popping pearls stuff.' Dante scoffed 'ye i guess but sometimes tapioca pearls get hella boring. popping pearls add more flavour' i replied and everyone agreed with me, i smugly looked at Dante and we both laughed.
we then talked about more personal stuff about our childhood and that.
'ya kno, i once got kicked in the eye, someone was going for a handstand in front of me and i was going for one as well' i said out of the blue. it went silent and everyone looked at each other. all of a sudden we all burst out laughing, grabbing our stomachs for air and putting our hands over our mouths to try and stop us from dying of laughter.
none of us realised it but the 20 minutes swiftly passed and everyone else had to go shoot a scene, Ethan and i had to stay behind.
'see ya guys in a bit, don't do anything illegal.' Tj joked. 'Awh you're a funny one aren't you.' i said back and we both giggled and waved each other goodbye.
now it was just me and Ethan
'so you wanna go through the script?' he asked 'yeah sure' i awkwardly said 'hey don't get nervous, it's just a kiss i'm sure you've had plenty before ' 'oh no no no you've got that all wrong' i laughed, in disbelief that he would say that 'what? you haven't had your first kiss yet?' 'sorry Ethan, i'm not as attractive as you' 'well no i think you're attractive as well. i've only known you for 20 minutes and i already feel like we're really close, why wouldn't someone like you ' 'careful there Ethan, don't get too attached or i'll go breaking your heart.' i said back, i can't believe he said that i was attractive, it's like i'm in a movie or some sort of wattpad fan fiction (A/N wow see what i did there teehee) 'i'll try' he said raising an eyebrow and smirking. i smiled back at him and we ran through the scene. even thought we weren't in front of a camera and this was just a mini rehearsal, he put all his effort into this scene. we were about to finish and it was just coming up to the kissing scene. we both paused and took a slow breath in, we started leaning forward until... 'whattup lovebirdsss' Cameron shouted and he pushed the door forward causing ethan and I to jump from shock. 'jesus wanna try again but just a bit louder?' 'i would've but i was afraid i would interrupt something' he laughed. they all came back from their scene i'm guessing 'did y'all do anything illegal?' tj asked, poking me on my shoulder. 'almost...' Ethan joked 'wow' i said 'wait did you actually?!' dante questioned 'no comment' i replied, raising my eyebrow to arouse suspicion. we all had a laugh then decided to sit back down and do a live stream. of course i sat next to Ethan comments all came flooding in, saying how they were excited that Ethan had a love interest and some fans started asking questions like if we were a really couple, i said no and that it was just for the show but that we're still close friends, as i said Ethan brushed his hand over mine and squeezed it. no way he's gonna be catching feelings for me
