"Are you and Kiko really dating?"
Seunghyun scowled at himself in the mirror. No, that sounds too straightforward. He'll guess that I have a crush on him. Running fingers frustratedly through raven-black locks, Seunghyun tried hard to think of the correct way to approach his best friend and band-mate Jiyong on the subject of his and model Kiko's rumoured relationship. He just didn't want to believe it - he wouldn't believe it, not until he heard the confirmation from Jiyong himself.
The rumours had began with Jiyong's message on his private Instagram, saying something along the lines of "My dear Kiko." God, had that been a blow to the chest when Seunghyun first learned of that. He really wanted to believe that Jiyong was reffering to the woman in a friendly way, a sisterly way, but he was finding it harder and harder with each photo popping up of them supposedly going out on dates.
"Why can't I just say it?" Seunghyun whispered to the mirror as if the smooth, reflective surface of the object could possibly give him the answer. Kiko was beautiful, and Seunghyun was just... Seunghyun. And a man, no less. Why did I have to fall in love with Jiyong? Seunghyun asked his mind desperately.
It had all started around the Fantastic Baby era when Seunghyun had electric blue hair and Jiyong was pulling off the long black and red, sometimes even blue, hair that looked so amazing on him. Seunghyun had no idea when it first began; in fact, it had all happened in one instant. Seunghyun had gotten sick one week, badly sick, and throughout the worried leader Jiyong had sat by his side and forced him to eat even though the illness had all but ripped his appetite away. At one point, Jiyong had fallen asleep in a chair next to Seunghyun's bed, and the then blue-haired man had studied Jiyong's features and realized that he himself wasn't as straight as he seemed.
Caught up in thoughts of that day, Seunghyun had failed to notice Taeyang walking into the bathroom. When Taeyang spoke, it nearly sent Seunghyun a foot into the air. "Dude, I need to use the restroom. Stop hogging it up preparing for your date or whatever the hell it is you're so hyped about."
I'm not hyped about anything, Seunghyun wanted to snap. But he held his tongue and exited the bathroom, turning the corner to walk into his and Seungri's bedroom. The maknae had been in a car accidemt less than a few days ago, and was still in the hospital. Seunghyun felt terrible worry for the youngest member of BIGBANG but soon his thoughts were consumed by something Jiyong had said earlier in the day.
"I've got some... uh, shopping to do. I'll be back sometime around four. Don't wait up."
Shopping? He was probably going to go out on a date with Kiko for all Seunghyun knew. That sent a lightning bolt of pain through Seunghyun's chest and he quickly decided not to think about it any longer, and instead busied himself playing with his fingernails like a child, wanting it all to go away. Why couldn't Jiyong have seen it earlier? Why couldn't he realize how much pain he was putting Seunghyun through?
That's selfish, Seunghyun chided himself. With a sigh he dropped his hands and buried his face in the pillow, his thoughts running off the rails once more. He pictured all the times that him and Jiyong had been together, during concerts and TV shows and everything in between, and soon he was imagining himself and Jiyong kissing roughly. Pushing his face even further into the pillow, Seunghyun groaned and stopped his thoughts right there. He already knew the dirty images they would lead to.
"Well. Something is clearly bothering the oldest hyung in BIGBANG, if you ask me."
The familiar soft yet deep voice was enough to send Seunghyun's heart into a frenzy. Jiyong. Why now? But he pulled his face from the pillow to look up at Jiyong anyways, his eyes half-closed. The younger man was staring at Seunghyun through worried eyes, his curly brown locks falling gently in front of his line of sight. Seunghyun found himself admiring his dongsaeng in ways a hyung shouldn't have been.
