6:00 pm

I am now home alone. My family went out to dinner, but I insisted on staying home because I'm so tired.

It's been three hours since I last talked to Marcel, but he still hasn't contacted me yet.

I wonder why he hasn't called back or texted.

My brain tortures me again and think of all the negative possibilities as to why he's not calling back. Is he just playing games with me? Was he lieing about not having a girlfriend? Did he think that I didn't have the same feelings for him because I left him hanging?

I try to take my mind off of him and turn on my TV to watch some Netflix. I decide on watching Insidious. I'm home alone and I know I'm going to get scared, but I watch it anyways.

I am hiding under the blanket, not wanting to watch the part when the little boy is hearing something in his closet.

My heart nearly beats out of my chest when I hear as loud banging at the front door of my house. I pause the movie and exit my room, making sure to check the hallway before stepping out. I pause at every corner I turn, just to make sure there's nothing there. When I finally make it to the living room, I peak out the window to see who it is and I see Veronica standing in front of my door.

"About time you got to the door. Now let me in" She says as I try to unlock the screen door.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

She doesn't answer me, but walks straight to my bedroom.

She opens my closet and looks through my clothes. "We're going out." She says.

"What? Why didn't you tell me in advance?"

"Here, put this on," she says handing me my floral dress.

"What? Where are we going?" I ask, still confused.

"It's a surprise." She grins.

I silently groan. What is up with people always making things a surprise?

I change into my dress and Veronica leads me out to our driveway.

I reach for the passenger door to get inside, but she says, "Nope, you're not going anywhere with me."

I turn around confused to look at her.

She points to a car parked on the sidewalk next to our driveway. I then see Marcel step out of the driver side. Veronica gives me a light push to start walking towards him.

He is wearing a black button up, dark jeans, and dress shoes. He looks even more incredible.

"Hey," he smiles. Even in this poor lighting, I can still see his adorable dimples.

"Hi," I smile back.

"You look nice."

"Thanks. You do too." I blush.

I hear Veronica in the distnace, "You two have fun."

"Sorry for catching you off guard," he says as he leads us to his car.

He opens the passenger door for me and I slide in.

"So, where are we going?" I ask when he gets in the car.

"It's a surprise," he says smiling.

"As always," I say as I roll my eyes, but smiling.
