Saturday, April 22, 2017"Oh, hey....Just hanging out....Okay, I'd love to...Bye." I was listening to my best friend, Amaiya, on the phone with Corbyn, her crush. She hung up and screamed in excitement, we both started celebrating and cheering. She just got a date with her crush, one of the jocks on the baseball team. He's considered one of the hottest guys in our grade, too.
Amaiya and I met in fifth grade, now it's sophemore year and we've been friends ever since. She's always been the popular one and I never got attention. Which I didn't mind because I never really liked attention. Guys always liked her and I always just stood to the side. I'm more of a nerd, but I don't mind it.
"So, do you like anyone?" Amaiya asked curiously.
"No, not at the moment." I said reassuringly.
"Oh, come on, Leilani. There's got to be someone."
"Nope"
"Alright, fine." She gave up.
"Well.." I teased. She gasped and leaned in closer, "there really isn't anyone, I guess."
"Ugh" she groaned and slumped down, disappointedly. I giggled.
My mom cracked the door open and leaned in, "Hey, Leilani, could you come downstairs, really quickly? Your father and I need to talk to you."
"Yeah, sure" I replied as Amaiya and I shared a confused look.
I walked downstairs and sat on the couch where my sister already was. I sat across from my dad, next to my sister.
"We hate to tell you guys this now, but it's kind of urgent." My dad started.
"We have to move to Germany, for your dad's new job." My mom continued.
My sister, Lana, and I shared a shocked look.
"You guys have to be kidding, right?" Lana asked.
"Sorry, sweetie, we're not. We leave in three weeks." My dad said.
I started to tear up and ran back up to my room.
Amaiya started comforting me and I told her what had happened. We spent the next week together hang out and we never parted.———
Sorry this is short.
