I stare out the window at the lead cheerleader abby, she is absolutely beautiful and everyone knows it, girls want to be her and guys want to be with her, me included. It's sad to think that I am the only LGBTQ+ citizen in this town, well that I know of anyway.

We live in a small religious town and not many kids from outside the town go to this school. Twenty of the students including Abby herself are from out of town who just happen to go here, all are drop-dead gorgeous or handsome and all rule the school. And that is saying something since there is only three hundred students that go to our school.

I watch as Abby's bound blonde hair swishes in the slight breeze, her piercing blue eyes roam the yard as she desands from the makeshift pyramid they made with there bodies.

I rush over to the corner of the cafeteria and pretend I had no interest in what they are doing, Abby and her friends transferred to the school a year ago, it is their last year with us and ever since she walked into the hallway I have liked her, but I will never have a chance and I know it.

You would think Abby would be your cliche cheerleader who is a slut and fails at all her classes and is the meanest bully in the school but she isn't not thank god. Abby is the top of our class and I mean that she will most likely get valedictorian without fail, she is nice to everyone and if she isn't she acts like you don't exist and gives you space in the hall way, the last time I heard about her sleeping with anyone was two days after she arrived and it was apparently with one of the other transfers so we just assumed they were dating.

The doors swing open as they all come piling in to get lunch before class, after lunch we both have business class, apparently she is wanting to take over her families business so she wants to know what to do, I, on the other hand, want a business degree after school to get as far away from dodge as possible. Not that the town is named dodge but it is fun to say, I, however, want to leave this town and my mother behind.

I get up and throw my trash away before heading out of the cafeteria so I can get a head start on classwork, we all have a huge pile of books to work though out the year and I have only completed one of the three. Not that there is any rush since we still have six months left of school and the other two books put together are the same size as the first.

Stepping into the classroom I am greeted by the teacher, she and one other came around the same time as the transfers and started working here, it is most definitely strange to be but I am not going to complain, miss Alison is amazing and is so nice to everyone.

I open up my textbook and immediately start reading and filling out the answers to all the questions like need be, I handed in the first book two days ago after finishing it on the weekend so it should be marked within the next two months, I am the third to complete it, Abby and Jason finished a day apart, I would assume they cheated except Jason is like a brother to me, well was.

"Anna school is done" miss Alison smiles at me making me nod my thanks and pack my stuff up, I don't like to talk, I am not mute just learned to blend in after all the years.

When I am almost home I take off my glasses that cover my hazel eyes and shove them into my bookbag, I let my black hair out of the bun it once sat in and shake my head slightly allowing the loose curls to run down my back, I have to straighten my hair every morning due to the amount of natural curls I have and then loose curl my hair afterward to not look ordinary.

"I'm home" I call out throughout the house, I notice the impending quietness before the storm and scurry upstairs and into my bedroom. My mum was amazing, so was my life. It all changed on a spring morning three years ago.

Flashback

"Mum" I cry out rushing down the stairs, I need to tell her who I really am, I can't keep hiding it

"In here darling" mother calls, I rush into mums arms before realizing my best friend Jason is here too

"Two birds, one stone. Can you guys sit" I smile out while fidgeting with the sleeves of my shirt

"What's wrong" mum and Jason call out making me jump from nerves

"I'm a lesbian, I tried being straight I promise" I cry out, my mother is very religious just like the rest of the town is.

"You devil worshipper, move out the day you can and stay out of my way" mother hisses slapping me across the face, I thought mother's love was meant to outway any bad you do?

"I'm sorry Annie, I can't be your friend anymore, goodbye Anna" Jason says using my real name instead of my nickname at the end.

The next day it had spread around the town and all my friends left, people avoided me like the plague scared they do would turn to be like me.

End of flashback

Every day I lay in bed wishing I wasn't like I am, but then again I am glad I am not bullied or abused for it, everyone just ignores me.

I throw my bag on the floor by my bed and pick up my Xbox controller, that same year my mother brought me a Wii, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and a bunch of games to keep me out of her way, we are not short of money and if I ever circle a game I want and leave it on the kitchen counter the next day it will be sitting outside the door to my room waiting for me, Mum doesn't care about the money as long as it keeps me away from her.

I turn everything on and start killing people in call of duty, I always beat my high score, but that is probably because I became a gamer not long after everything arrived since it all I could do other than reading. Normally I wouldn't be allowed this stuff due to the church but I think because I am already a sinner they stopped caring about everything I do or say and just pretend I don't exist, you can tell due to the fact I am in no school photos, no photos of me in the house either, I have been erased.
