Don's POV "I want to take you out ma" I said and smiled. Aaliyah looked up at me and smiled back. "Ok baby, Where we going" she asked. "Just get your fine ass in the car and you'll find out" I said and smacked her ass. She walked out the room and went downstairs. I went into my drawer to get some socks and I saw the small blue box. I opened it and Nicki's engagement ring shined in the light. I felt a wave of sadness and regret wash over me. I was torn between wanting my family and wanting to start something new with someone I once thought I'd be with forever.
I looked at the ring and my eyes began to well up. Placing the ring back under my socks, the back of my hand wiped my face. I grabbed my socks, put them on, and then headed downstairs.
We finally pulled up to a nice restaurant that she was begging me to take her. We walk in and get seated. My mood was off since I found the ring. Something was just different. I was starting to feel different about me and Aaliyah. "You ok babe" she asked. I nodded. "You sure, you seem quiet" she said. "I said I'm fine" I said raising my voice slightly. "Ok" she said rolling her eyes. We made some small talk but I wasn't really paying attention to anything she was saying.
I pulled out my phone and clicked on IG.

The last picture made me smile. I missed my kids. "Don.. hellooo. You listening to me" she asked. "Huh" I said. "You didn't hear shit I said" she said with an attitude. "Chill out. I heard you" I said lying. "Yea whatever. I'm done, let's go" she said. I paid the bill and we left.
Nicki's POV It felt like me and Omari just picked up exactly where we left off. Everything seemed natural and not forced. It felt good to be around him again. He was always so good to me. He was always so good for me.
"Can we talk about the last time I saw you" he asked. I sighed because I didn't really want to think about it. I felt horrible. "That was a huge mistake. I'm so sorry I did that to you. I believed him when he said he had changed. Something inside me wanted to make my family work. So I took the chance and I've regretted it for a while. He was selfish and wasn't thinking about making our family work. He wanted to be selfish.... I don't know why I'm telling you all this. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me" I said sincerely. He smiled and kissed my lips. "I forgive you baby. But I was really hurt and I knew something like that could happen. How do I know it won't happen again" he asked. "I am completely done with Don. For years it's been this back and forth bullshit. I can't deal with it anymore. I have too many kids to be worried about. He can go fuck somebody else's life up. I don't care anymore" I shrugged.
He hugged me and pulled something out his pocket. "I know we just got back into each other's lives but I'm still committed to you and the kids Nicki. You're the love of my life and I never want to lose you again. Will you put this back on" he asked while showing me the promise ring. A huge smile spread across my face. I grabbed the ring and put it on my finger. "I love you so much Omari. You're the man I always dreamed about. You're what I need" I said. He pulled me in for a passionate kiss.
I felt some tugging on my leg and looked down. "Daddy is here" Kai says. I roll my eyes and walk to the front door and open it. "It's not your turn with the kids" I said. "I know. I came to talk to you" he said. "I don't want to talk Donald" I said. He brushed past me and walked into the living room. He stopped dead in his tracks once he saw Omari standing there. "You got to be fucking kidding me. You back with this nigga" he said and smacked his lips. I could feel the hostility growing inside of him.
"So what? Don't you got a new girl" I asked. He rolled his eyes. "Look, I need to talk to my baby moms... alone" he said glaring at O. "I ain't got shit to say to you. Now get out" I say starting to get irritated. "Nicki please" he said with pleading eyes. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Can you go upstairs and check on the kids for me" I asked Omari. He nodded and walked over to me and kissed me. Omari and Don glared hatefully at one another before Omari finally walked upstairs.
I look back over at Don and I can tell he's pissed. "What do you want" I said crossing my arms. "I made a mistake Nicki" he said. Exhaling deeply, I rolled my eyes, "not this shit again" I said shaking my head. "Listen to me, I thought I wanted her since I never got closure from her. I realized that I got love for her but I'm not in love with her. I'm in love with you" he said walking closer to me. I chuckled a bit. "You got me fucked up Don. Please get the fuck up out my house" I said backing away from him.
He stood there looking sad and pitiful. "Please Nicki, I know I've hurt you over and over but I promise to do better. To be a better man" he said. He walked closer to me. "I want my family Nick. I want you. I know you still love me" he said and leaned down and kissed me. SMACK. The sound of me smacking the shit out of him echoed throughout the living room. "GET OUT" I yelled. He looked at me with such hurt and defeat in his eyes. He rubbed his face and walked out the front door.
"You good baby" Omari said. I was so angry that I unknowingly had started crying. "He just makes me so fucking mad" I said crying into his chest. He hugs me and tried to console me. Finally, I had stop crying and look up at him. "I promise you that I don't want him. I only want you" I said. He hugged me tighter and kissed my neck.
Don's POV I sped through traffic while thinking about what just happened. I was torn up about Nicki not wanting me back. The fact that she didn't want me anymore was hard for me to wrap my mind around. I knew this time I had really fucked up. And to see that nigga there in the place I should be in pissed me off.
I pulled back up to the house and walked inside. I walk to my bedroom and started taking my clothes off. "where did you go baby" Aaliyah asked. I ignored her and walked into the bathroom. She followed behind me. "What's wrong" she said touching my back. I flinched and brushed her off me. "Yo, you got to leave" I said. She looked back at me shocked. "What" she said. "Get the fuck out. I don't want this anymore" I yelled. "What you mean" she asked while tears fell from her eyes. "I mean what the fuck I said. I'm done A" I said.
"You know what Don? FUCK YOU! That's why I left your sorry ass years ago" she spat. "Man whatever, get the hell out" I said.
She grabbed her stuff and walked out.
I sat on the bed and let my head fall into my hands.
