"Past my bedtime
Blue and red lights
Come take you away
Hate to see you like a monster so I run and hide
Hate to ask but what's it like to leave me behind"

Sirens from ambulances are quiet squeaks in Y/N ringing ears. She opens her eyes to see nothing but flashing lights and pieces of her family's car scattered around the road. A headlight here, a door there. She looks up and realizes she is under a large piece of the car. 'Do the responders even know I'm here?' Her vision isn't great and she can't see her parents anywhere. She closes her eyes again and focuses on herself. Now, all she feels is pain. A hot, burning pain from her head. Y/N moves her hand to feel her head. She looks at her hand and it is red with blood. Upon further inspection her head seems to be the only thing that is majorly injured. She moves her shoulder to try and see what was going on. She looks behind her to see her mother a few feet away, laying on the ground in a black bag. People stand around her talking. One leans down and zips the bag closed.
"Mom..." Y/N voice is barely there as she tries to move over to her. She manages to move whatever she was under just a bit and start to wiggle out. As she is moving the car, she knocks one of the wheels and sends it rolling across the road. The responder's attention snap to her as they rush over.
They crowd around Y/N in a hurry, trying to get her out. Y/N is pinned to the ground as they check her wounds. Through the hustle Y/N feels weaker and weaker, the darkness becoming a welcoming escape. She fights it, trying to hear the conversation to figure out what happened.
"Bleeding out...hospital...quickly...dead" The conversation is chopped.
A gurney is brought over and people lift Y/N onto it and rush her to the ambulance. Once inside everything seems to calm down. No more screaming, just the rocking of the vehicle. With the world now quiet Y/N can hear conversations better. One of the paramedics sitting with her is a woman with blond hair.
"We have to get her to the hospital quickly if we want her to live. We can't let her die like her parents."
Wait, backup. Die? Her parents are dead. Thousands of thoughts race through her head. She was never super close with her parents, well, adopted parents. She'd always wanted to go out and try to find her biological family, even if it wasn't her real parents since reports said they died. Her adopted parent's death made her sad, but it could be a new opportunity. Was it wrong to think that their death could be a happy thing? She went back and forth in her head. The stress sucked out all her energy and she finally passed out.
