"I never thought I'd miss the bittersweet

I gave those years away

And lost my sense of taste

'Cause all of your lovers eventually fade

And leave you alone in the bed you made

And all of those colors that bleed to grey leave nothing"

Your POV

After talking with Peter about my past we just sat together. I knew what was about to come, and I wanted to spend every minute with him that I could. Tony and Stephen were still talking. They had been for about 30 minutes now. Every time I looked over, I could see Stephen but not Tony because of the angle I was sitting at. He always had love in his eyes. I could only hope Tony returned it.

A few minutes later, out of the corner of my eye I saw Mantis perk up. Peter's muscles went ridged under my hand.

'Not now. I wanted more time...'

I looked Peter in the eyes. I saw sadness and fear written clear as day. We stood up and walked toward where the Guardians had sat down. Peter had his arm around my shoulders. I didn't care if Tony saw. It wouldn't matter in a couple minutes.

"Something is happening." Mantis's eyes went wide, then her body started to turn to dust. In less than 5 seconds she was completely gone.

Tony and Stephen had walked over...hand-in-hand. I smiled despite the situation. Tony looked over at Peter's arm around my shoulder. I could see him making connections in his head. He smiled back at me.

'This can end with us not hiding. That's all I could ever want.'

Drax drew us out of our thoughts. "Quill?"

Everyone looked over at Quill. He seemed frozen with fear as his body started to dust away. Tony walked over to him while Stephen came over to stand next to me. Peter removed his arm so I could speak with the doctor.

                "Are you ready for this?"

"No," he said simply, "but I have hope."

                I nodded. "Me too."

By this time Quill was completely gone. I knew what was coming next. Stephen stumbled a bit as his legs started to go. One tear slipped out of my eye and a few out of Tony's.

"No. No. NO. You can't go," Tony's voice was panicked. "We just got this. We just became us. We need more time." Tony was holding Stephen across his lap.

"Tony...there was no other way." He smiled softly, his eyes saying more than what his lips had time for. With that he was completely gone.

Tony stood back up and looked at the ground, then at Peter. I had no way of telling what was going on in his head.

Tony's POV

Nothing. Nothing was happening in my head. I couldn't fathom the pain. It would hit me later, but I had to stay strong for them. Then I had a realization.

'Oh god. Whatever controls this, spare them. Take me.'

My prayers were interrupted by a voice.

                "Tony?"

My heart sank to the ground. I felt like I was going to vomit.

I forced my eyes to lift and look at Peter.

He was fine. But pure terror covered his face as he looked at Y/N.

                'Oh god no.'

Y/N didn't look scared, or shocked. She looked...sorry? That was the only emotion I could see. I walked over to her and caught her right as she started to fall. As we went down, I pulled her into my lap, putting her head against my right shoulder.

"Don't be scared for me. I knew this was coming. I've made my peace with it."

I sniffed and tried to stop from sobbing. "That doesn't make it right. I can't lose you."

"I'll be okay. I'll be with Stephen."

                That made my façade shatter.

She looked over at Peter, who was on her other side now. He had tears streaming down his cheeks. She raised a half-dusted hand to his face. "Stay gold, spider-boy. Take care of him for me." She looked at the bracelet on her wrist, then back at him. "Thank you."

She then looked over at me. "I believe in you. I love you Dad." Her whole body was gone, leaving only her head left. "I'll say hi to Stephen for you." With that she was completely gone. They both where.

Peter is still here, but he's not mine.

He has May, his family.

I had one, now they're gone.

They left me.

I am alone.
