LIZZY POV

____________________

"Carly, I'm not going to waste my money for some stupid party." I sigh scrolling through my photogram on my phone. (See what I did there? xD)

"But Lizzy." Carly whined falling on my bed.

"I owe some money to my lil' bro. I need all the money I can get." I say.

"I will give you money." Carly said, her face brightening.

"Like you have money." I snickered.

She pouted.

"Then you can borrow one of my costumes." She said.

"I'm nowhere near your size." I say looking up from my phone.

Carly was this dream body with perfect weight, height, curves, everything! I was just this slender, flat-chested geek. I would do anything to be just like Carly. Charming, funny, sarcastic-

My thoughts get interrupted by Carly's voice.

"Please Liz. I really want to go. This could be my chance to meet him." She said more serious.

"Then go alone." I say switching my position to laying flat on my stomach.

"Why are you so cold?" She pouted.

"I don't like social events. You know how I hate people." I sigh.

While I scrolled I found something that caught my eye. I gasped.

"Lizzy, just once I-"

"OH MY GOSH!" I scream. I sit up .

"What is it?" Carly asked interested.

"You know how the author of Scolf died? Harold?" I say not taking my eyes off the screen,

"Yeah... so?"

"He wrote the last book already but was waiting for the date time to give out." I say.

I drop my phone and I look at Carly with my mouth opened wide.

I squeal with joy.

"I can have the last book. Finally!" I shout throwing my hands up.

"Bu-"

"No! I have to go to the bookstore right away!" I say excited.

"It’s already 6 they are probably closed." Carly sighed.

"Scolf, Scolf, Scolf." I chant.

"ELIZABETH QUINN YOU ARE GOING TO THE PARTY WITH ME WETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!" Carly shouts.

"Fine Carly. I'm going. But I need that book." I say.

"There. That mask looks perfect on you." Carly smiles.

I sigh.

We were in her bedroom. She was trying on different clothes while I was sitting there impatiently for her to finish. She ended up placing a fuzzy violet masquerade mask on my face.

"It’s not like I'm wearing a costume to go with it." I say. And I really wasn't. All I had on were tight blue jeans, a black cardigan, and a plain white t-shirt.

"You still look great!" She said.

"Do you mind that every time Jason passes I act like I don't know you?" She joked.

I roll my eyes and I glance at my watch.

I watched as Carly huffed as she struggled to put on a sexy vampire costume.

"Aren't you suppose to be technically punk?" I ask.

"Yeah. But Jason is worth showing this much skin for." She said as she finished up on her outfit.

"Zip zip?" She asked pointing to her zipper.

"Yep Yep." I reply.

I zip it up and she smiles in the mirror. But her smile turns to an instant frown.

"I feel like the outfit is unfinished." She said.

She grabbed her black hooded cloak and put it over her.

"Ah, so much better." She sighed.

I grabbed her other red hooded cloak and put it on.

"There. I'm red little riding hood." I say.

Carly put on a red mask. We both looked at each other and frowned.

"Switch." We said at the same time.

So I had the red fuzzy masquerade mask, and she had the violet fuzzy one.

"Now you're little red riding hood." Carly giggled.

"Let’s go! We are going to be late." I say.

We lock elbows as we head down the steps.

As we walk the streets and I see a bright light. I lift up my mask to see what it was. A bookstore finally opened.

"THAT ONE!" I shout.

We both run to it. The moment we walked in, it. Was. Chaos. People were grabbing books of the shelves like hungry beast, and I see people fighting, like fighting  with fist and all, for the books. The Scolf books.

"PEOPLE CALM DOWN PLEASE, WE WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET THE POLICE." I heard a voice boom over the speakers.

I saw an untouched Scolf book on the ground and I ran for it. The moment I put my hand on it, somebody else did as well.

I looked up to see it was a little girl. She was growling like a maniac.

"Let. Go. Of. My. Book." She said.

"Bu-"

She lunges at me fighting.

"Help!" I scream.

The girl on me tenses then drops to the floor besides me.

Carly had knocked her out. Carly looked shakened up from that.

"Let’s go before the police come." She said.

We purchased the book and ran out the store.

The party was close by so we only had to walk a few blocks of weird looks from strangers. Carly took her hood off and placed her mask on her face. I did as well.

We opened the double doors and we instantly heard really loud music. An alcohol scent and sweat pushed up my nose. I gagged.

"Oh, it’s not that bad!" Carly says annoyed.

"Okaay," I giggle.

"OH MY GEE!" Carly squealed.

"What? What?!" I ask.

"Look there, its Jason." Carly said pointing to a man in a mask.

"How do you even know if he is wearing a mask?" I ask confused.

It was leaked that he would be wearing that. Plus I know how he moves while he dances-"

She gasped.

"With another girl!" She finished when she spotted a girl with blonde hair giggling around him while they danced.

"Well! Whatcha gonna do about it girl?!" I ask with sass.

"GET MY MAN!" We both said together.

We giggled. Jason moved away from the blonde and Carly strides over to him.

I sigh. What am I gonna do with her?
