Imagine your best friend of over a decade flakes out on you over the course of three months. It seems like a message of some sort. Bianca's been unusually busy lately and I'm determined to see what she's been up to which is why I've been pacing outside of this Starbucks for five minutes. I've missed her so much that it's starting to weird me out and Tina won't shut up about it. Nothing has really changed in B's life unless it's something that she's keeping from me but why would she?

I swing the door to the Starbucks open and I instantly know she's in here by the voice that's carrying through the place. "Take me home tonight, I don't want to let you go till you see the light."  I chuckle as I make my way over to her. I love the way she sings along to every song. It doesn't matter where and I'm not even sure she knows she's doing it half the time. Every word and every musical sound no matter the genre or decade.

"Hey babe." I smile down at her.

She turns to face me and I'm greeted with that brilliant smile that I've missed so much.

"Hiya. You're late."

I am late. I took a shower twice because I was so sweaty. I must have left the heat on too high last night.

"Well you've been dodging me for like a month or so, so I think I can steal back 10 minutes." I say grinning.

She frowns a little but quickly recovers. Why did I call her out like that?

"So, what have you been up to that's got you so busy?"

She shrugs "Just been busy I guess. Have you been up to anything new?"

"Me? No. Business as usual."

She frowns again.

"You want another croissant?" And that brings her smile back.

"Yes please."

I walk over to order. "Hey Scott."

"Hiiii Tinaaaa."

"Hot date?"

I roll my eyes. Tina is a mutual friend but is constantly teasing me about B.

"You know all about our relationship Tina."

Tina's eyes widen to twice their size. "Your what?"

"Huh?"

"Your relationship? You just said relationship."

Shit did I? "Relationship, friendship. It's all platonic to me" I smile at her and before walking away I order the usual.

"What did you say to Tina?"

I shrug. "Just ordered. Why?"

"Um because it looked like her head was going to explode."

I shrug again and she lets it go as I change the subject.

"So how are the sibs?" I smile as she dives into the 411 on her family. I love her family. I've put in a lot of hours at her childhood home and I still stop there when I go back home for whatever reason, even if B's not there. I know most of what she says because I keep up with her brothers and sisters myself but I love the way she talks about them. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for any one of them and I love when get's so passionate.

Tina's voice fills the room as she calls out "Green tea and croissant for Mr. A Hole."

"Very clever Tina." I say as I grab my stuff from the counter.

I sit back down with B and wonder where we left off. To be honest I stopped listening a little while in and was just watching her as she happily chattered away.
