Chapter Four:

"Evelyn," I heard a low, cracky voice say. "Evelyn, wake up. We have school."

I turn and look Hunter right in his bright emerald eyes. I groan.

"Hunter, what have I said one million times about calling me Evelyn?" I say.

"You need to start getting used to it now," Hunter says.

He has a point, but I'm not living with the name Evelyn Roseanna.

"Just call me Holland, please?"

"Alright," he says with a smile. "Just get up, Hol. First day of school."

I walk down the stairs with a small leather book bag, my waist-long brunette hair in beach waves, and I was wearing a black tank top and cardigan with a black skirt with yellow daisies on it.

"You look nice," Sienna says while chewing on her cereal.

"Thanks," I reply with a small smile.

Ellen comes storming down the stairs, her shoulder length dirty blonde hair pin straight, and she was wearing blue glasses to suit her blue eyes. Her wardrobe was... different. She had on red baggy sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

"El, you look ravishing," Sienna says sarcastically.

I stare at Ellen for a moment, taking in her choice of clothing.

"I wear this shit all the time," Ellen says. "No need to stare."

I stifle a laugh and turn right around to pat Hunter on the head.

Harry, Hunter, and Sienna seem to be the only three who respect me in this family. Elizabeth and Ellen are going to take some time to get used to. I can already tell Ellen is just like her mother... my mother, too, I guess.

"Have a good first day, Holland," Harry says, throwing a wink and a smile my way.

I nod back to him.

Behind me, I hear Ellen snap. "Are you gonna come back and say goodbye to me?"

Harry kisses Ellen and Sienna on the head and says, "I just love my girls."

Harry and Hunter exit the home and take off in Harry's black range rover.

"I'm your ride to school," Ellen says. "Pack your shit and lets go."

Nice attitude, I thought. But instead of actually saying that, I just nodded and said, "I'm ready."

Sienna pulled me aside. "Good luck with her," she laughs. I laugh along with her as Ellen screams, "Lets get going, newbie."

For most of the car ride, it was quiet. Ellen didn't seem too happy about her twin sister returning after being gone for thirteen years.

"We're here," Ellen says in a monotone.

Once we get into the school, Ellen introduces me to one of her friends, Gavin.

"You're taking all of Gavin's classes, so basically just follow him around," El says.

I just nod in her response as she walks away, hand in hand with some tall emo looking dude.

"So you're Ellen's sister?" Gavin says.

I nod and say, "Twin. Never even know I had one." I laugh, but Gavin seems puzzled.

"That's a joke, right?" Gavin questions, pushing his blonde hair out of his face.

"You've never heard of the girl that was abducted at age three and just returned thirteen years later?" I laugh.

"Oh, that was you?" Gavin says, acting shocked.

"Ellen didn't tell you?" I ask.

"El and I don't really talk, we hardly see each other all day," Gavin says.

"So she just stuck me with someone to get me off of her chest? Very sister like of her," I snap.

"You'll have a better time with me anyway," Gavin says, straightening up and puffing out his chest.

We both share a laugh and walk to first period together.

"Hey, so we're, like, having a party tonight at my friend's place," Gavin says, stuttering. "Ellen's going, maybe you'll go?"

"I'll consider it," I say.

"Thanks, Evelyn," he says.

I swear to God, I'm going to choke my family's neck...

"Holland," I say to Gavin. "Call me Holland."

"Holland?" Gavin questions.

"My entire family calls me Evelyn, but I'm trying to break that habit. Just call me Holland, please?"

"Sure thing, Holland," he says, making his way back to his seat.
