Lydia felt her lungs fill with oxygen has she turned on her stomach and started coughing up water "Aw thank goodness you scared me to death Lyds"Edward said putting a hand on her back as reassurance she turned back on her back "Wha-What happened?"She asked Edward as he was looking out to the sea he sighed and looked at the girl who sat up also to see there surroundings "The ship sunk all of the crew died but God was gracious to us he saved our lives"Edward said Lydia was thanking and praising God for saving her and Edwards life but mourning the others also Edward stood up and held a hand for Lydia to take she took it and stood up to see green fields and trees and what looked like a road "Is that a road?"Lydia asked pointing to it "Yes it is come on let's go"Edward said leading the way to the first road once they got there they weren't sure what way to go "Which way?"Lydia asked Edward as he was looking left and then right and rubbing his forehead in confusion "Uh I'm not sure Lyds but let's got left,we're bound to find a town or meet someone on the road"Edward said as the traveled down the road it got dark soon so they decided to camp Edward had started a fire they didn't have any food since it was all on the ocean floor so Edward went to hunt for some leaving Lydia alone,cold,and scared she heard something snap like a twig she jumped up and looked around "Who's there?"The frightened girl asked "Edward I swear If your trying to scare me so help me I will kill you!"Lydia yelled in frustration hoping it was Edward and not someone else then a dark figure appeared through the woods in a dark cloak his face was covered from the hood she knew it wasn't Edward so she tried to run but bumped into someone has they covered her mouth then dragged her into the dark woods she knew this was probally the end for her but she prayed that God would spare her life one last time then she was tied up to a tree with a piece of rag tied around her mouth so she couldn't speak then the dark figures came into the moonlight she was scared to death as they got closer then they started slitting their wrists Lydia watched as they let the blood drop on her dress she knew exactly who they were now,druids,Lydia has heard they live in Frances forests seeking sacrifices for their fake gods,she knew what horrible things they did to people and she knew that she was one of their sacrifices this is it this is where she dies"Lydia!"Edward yelled that got the druids attention as they looked in the direction of where Edward was yelling from Lydia tried to warn him to run but she couldn't cause her mouth was covered and she was tied to a tree she prayed to God they wouldn't hurt him"Shut up!And be still!"One if the druids said holding a knife to her necks he instantly stopped thrashing and kicking and stayed incredibly still while looking at the dark haired man all she saw was evil she was hoping he would have mercy but she didn't see any in his heart she knew that she wouldn't make it out alive Edward is smart but he couldn't kill three druids by himself without a weapon then someone cane out of the bushes wearing a cloak she figured it was one of the druids the one holding a knife to her throat let go and stood up to talk to the Druid relief flooded over her as the weapon was finally removed from her throat she could feel blood trickling down her neck though but she didn't care she was alive "What happened?"the man asked the Druid that came back from the bushes the Druid didn't answer he just stood there looking at the man "Answer me!"The man yelled at the Druid then the Druid hit the man with a giant tree limb the man fell unconscious Lydia didn't know what to think then the Druid took his good off to reveal Edward her best friend she had tears of joy spilling out of her eyes Edward rushes over to her and untied her hands from the tree then took the untied the rag from around her head she quickly jumped into his arms as they hugged she was crying he cradled her head "Shhh it's ok Lyds.Its ok"Edward said rubbing her head her cry's finally stopped "How did you take them out?"Lydia asked Edward as they were walking down the road "I yelled your name as a distraction,once they got there I knocked them unconscious with a giant tree limb then I found you and well you saw what happened"Edward said "Thank you for saving my life"Lydia said Edward smiled "Your welcome it is my job after all"He said putting a arm around her shoulder "Where are we going?"She asked it was still dark as they were walking down the road "We shouldn't be far from a town or even the castle from here I don't think it's safe to stay anywhere at least until day light"Edward said the girl nodded and tried to stay awake
