Jade's POV

It was already a week after mom left. The one week felt like a month for me, or should I say months. I decided to isolate myself keeping mute like talking was something I don't do. But at that moment, I had nothing to say. I just wanted to be on my own. Despite how the girls tried to lighten up my mood sometimes, at the end, I still went back to my thoughts.

My reality. My new show. And of course, some people were already watching with the looks I now get on the street. After mom left that evening, and were done for the day, big mommy was just staring at me in amazement. Of course, I knew she was wondering how it happened? She was thinking if everything was real or a dream? She was a little bit shocked, and her expressions couldn't hide it.

I could watch her looks, and knew she felt so sorry for me. I thought after my mom left, she was going to scream, and yell at me too. Beat, and throw slaps at me all over again, but she did not. She cooked that night, came to call everyone of us, served us, and we prayed together that night. I couldn't thank her enough. Because, with everything I went through from my mom, the pain was unbearable. Assuming the whole beating was enough to get rid of the pregnancy, I would be more than glad to welcome more.

After the supper, I finally had enough time to be alone with the girls. I guess while I was undressing, Kemi must have seen the marks on my body because she came closer, and whispered... "Sorry about that". Pushing my eyes up, I could feel the heaviness, and the tears welled up around it. And not just that, the pain was undeniable even when I tried to lift my eyes up, and opened it well like I had not been crying with it. Kemi really surprised me. I wanted to tell her thank you for keeping my huge secrets despite how she was flogged by my mom, but I was too ashamed, and didn't even know how to start and say it.

I couldn't help the tear that rolled down, but slowly I opened up my mouth hoping she wouldn't pity me too much. "I'm so sorry Kemi. I know I really don't deserve it for how bad I've been to you too. Is there anyway I can repay you?"

Kemi just smiled resting on the bunk. "That's not you Jade. And you've never been bad to me at all. Why are you making me feel like I did something big. But if... And that's because you are one of the most nicest beings on earth." She smiled again, and at that moment, my tears seized. Like, I was so eager to hear her request. "Only if... Like, if you can just make me one small salad like this tomorrow." She demonstrated with her hands, and quickly raised it up when she saw me stared at her in shock. "I mean only if you can, per the repayment you know." Then I smiled. I didn't believe I just did that. But I did. Then she shouted. "Jade you smiled. Omg, I'm so happy."

Then I smiled again. "You actually made me smile with the way you did your hand." I confessed. Then she did it again, again, and again causing me to laugh. "But Jade, why is your salad so sweet nau? In fact, why is your food so sweet nau? Like, you know, when you first came here---"

"I never knew how to cook." I finished for her, and we both laughed. And slowly, someone joined us. As usual if you can guess. In her long black socks, and gloves, Miracle walked in through the door, and whispered. "Girls, me too."

"What!" Kemi shouted. And I felt like the real Kemi was back. "What do you know we are discussing?"
