annie's pov
i accept the call and the screen goes black for a second.
'asher?' i ask. 'can you hear me?'
suddenly, all i can see is asher's face. 'BOO!' he yells.
i jumped. 'OH MY GOD ASHER, YOU SCARED ME!'
'HAHAHA,' he laughs.
we laugh about it for a bit and then asher asks, 'well, how are you? with the whole, parents divorcing thing?'
i told asher about my parents divorcing the night before and he was really understanding about me not wanting to talk all the time.
'i'm doing okay, i guess. but my mum, i'm not so sure. my dad doesn't seem to care so that's breaking mum even more.'
'yeah. i mean obviously i can't relate but this happened to my aunt- well my ex-aunt and uncle. my ex-aunt was a straight-up bitch from the minute she married into the family. the marriage didn't even last for five months because my uncle found out that she had been cheating on him with a different man every night! she told him they were work dinners.'
'damn, that sucks dude. i'm sorry.' i say.
'yeah, it's okay. that was about three years ago and my uncle has a girlfriend now and she's really nice. she feels like a friend to me haha.' he says.
'oh, that's great.'
we talk for a bit while i stare at him
'god, he's so hot.'
