Noah's POV

I woke up from my phase out and well noticed my face was a bit too close to Robert's.

Wait what?

I'm on his bed!?!

I quickly jump out of it and land on all fours on the ground. I notice Rama outside the window. I open it and leap out. I call to him and ask for a fluffy downy feather of his. I plucks one off and gives it to me, I then proceed to blow at it and place it by his window sill.

We both left and started making our way through the Zoo, we go through trees and bushes rather than the obvious pathway and eventually we reach the end. I feel Rama swoop down far behind me and come on my shoulder with the same feather.

He is here...

I turned around, and as expected, behind me was Robert

He asked me "Who are you?", I smiled at him, then he started walked a little bit closer to me. "All in time...but know this, you'll be seeing a lot more of me from here on out" I said. I was about to walk away but a "Wait!" from him stopped me. "Can you at least tell me your name...please" he said, on that question bad memories flooded my mind and almost engulfed me for a moment before I managed to compose myself. I told Rama to fly off to the trees by Robert's window and let the wind blow in his feather to Robert at night. He complied and flew off.

I spun and walked towards Robert, until we were pretty close, though I hoped I was not invading his personal nest.

With my heart beating faster and my brain telling me to run away I put on a brave face and mustered out what I wanted to tell him "My name is not for many to hear, but for now, only for you...".

"My name..." I paused, considering whether or not to tell, but eventually the look on his face won me over and I released the pheromones.

"Is Noah".

I felt the talons of burden releasing it's grip on my shoulders and I smiled. I began walking away when I turned around, smiled even more and waved back at him. He too waved back, with his hand shaking a bit in nervousness of course, but I pretended to not notice.

I walked on and on, until the Zoo was far behind me.

I walked and walked, taking the jungle route as preferred and I soon reach my...uhhh...well...home? I will never get used to this constant moving, though I try to internalize it as Migration, but I am pretty sure there is no creature that migrates this frequently or this intentionally. I slip through the secret passage to the Mynas and wait there until nightfall, in that duration I chatted with some of the other Mynas about the local crops or places best to avoid from trappers.

Eventually Rama comes along and tells me that the mission was successful. I thank him by offering him a Riberry which he graciously accepts, a good way of persuasion among any Fruit Eating Bird Folk in Australia, this kind of fruit is considered very delicious all over the continent, and since these are pretty rare, any clan of Bird Folk who find them get very competitive over said tree or orchard, and don't let other birds enjoy it, especially the Myna Clans. Which is why I never tell the location of said trees, even when Rama begs me I don't tell, I don't have the right to be a factor disturbing the balance of this place, now do I?

I make sure he sleeps off in his nest and go back up to my room. As usual, mom greets me in for dinner and dad is, well, still dad.

"I made you your favourite Australian dish sweetie!" my mom sang. I can't express how grateful I am to her for understanding my needs, she really is a mother one can only dream of. "Here you go!" she said as she passed on the plate.

"Long Eucalyptus leaves lightly glazed with Eucalyptus oil, seasoned with some Eucalyptus seeds, dressed with Rainbow Eucalyptus bark, and for the icing on the top a bunch of Pink Eucalyptus blossoms! And for your drink a glassful of juicy Eucalyptus nectar!" she simply put it, displaying the menu.

Well, it's not that I can't eat normal human food, I do enjoy some of it, but for the most part it just tastes...unnatural. My mom used to be a chef in Paris before she met dad, no she wasn't from there but wanted to pursue a career over there. She was the best from what I heard, she also had a habit to mix new ingredients into foods, which kinda got her in some trouble but she never had too much issues with it since the customers liked the change.

Eventually she met my dad, by an arranged marriage so as to say, but she used dad's constant moving around as an excuse to try making new foods, which in turn helped me because, I would rather eat raw bark and tree sap rather than french fries, no joke.

My mom's ability to make food with whatever is around sparked after my birth, she first noticed it when I didn't eat human baby food and instead ate really soft mushrooms and other things. Thus began the journey of my mom making any natural dish she could whip up from anywhere.

While eating dinner I heard my dad mumble the usual "He should have been dead by now." from all the way across the other room. Even though it is a usual thing, it still hurts.  If I was a normal, your average, everyday human being, yes, I could very well be in the hospital by now and even most likely be dead. But I'm not, my abilities have always been both a blessing and a curse.

I finished dinner and excused myself to my room after saying my goodnight to mom. I just lied down on the bed for an hour or so. Eventually I got up, opened my window, and stared at the Moon as usual. It always brings me peace to see it. I immediately suppress the urge to howl and simply admired it, and for a moment, I hoped that Robert was looking at it as well.

I eventually felt sleepy and left the window open and went to my bed. I tucked myself in bed and sleep came over me in a flash.

My dreams were peaceful tonight. But it ended with an abrupt sound of thunder. And darkness surrounded me once again. Something bad was coming...
