Jungwoo and Lucas stepped out of the elevator leading into doyoung's apartment where crowds of people awaited them and cheered them on for their dare that was seen by everyone at the party.
Jungwoo could admit that he did feel like a celebrity with everyone yelling his name and taking photos and it looks like Lucas was enjoying it too.
Johnny and Mark came up to the two once it wasn't so crowded and pulled them into a hug. "you guys are hella famous"
"ooo wait until doyoung sees you," Mark says as he pats Jungwoo on the shoulder.
"Doyoung? Where is he?" Jungwoo asked noticing that he wasn't at his own party.
"oh? You guys don't know?" Johnny asked but got his question answered by the confused expression coming off of the two boys faces.
"yeaaa, he tried to walk that ladder but bailed," Johnny says as he pointed at the window with the ladder going across to another building.
"what? So is he out of the game?" Jungwoo asked
"yup and it wasn't so Gucci," Mark said before patting Jungwoo's back then leaving.
"I'll be right back, I should go look for him," Jungwoo said to Lucas then left.
He walked down the hall to where he knew Doyoung's room was and opened the door.
He stopped once he saw that Chanyeol and him talking and laughing with each other like they were best friends.
Doyoung made eye contact with Jungwoo and stood up. "he's a nice guy and we are just talking"
Jungwoo felt his heard tighten seeing his best friend talk to a guy that shattered his whole wellbeing "it's fine, I'm not surprised"
Jungwoo then made his way out to the hall where Doyoung stopped him.
"yeah I know it's fine but you know what isn't? Jungwoo I almost died tonight and you were nowhere to be found" Doyoung fired and Jungwoo could hear how tipsy he was just by the tone of his voice.
"you told me to live my life? Am I supposed to live my life in your shadow?" Jungwoo responded
"I was just trying to help you Jungwoo because you're the most repressed person I know"
"then why keep me around? Do you want me to be honest? Fine, you're so insecure and into yourself that you literally get jealous about someone else's happiness" Jungwoo fired back then walked off to Lucas but Doyoung was not finished
"oh yeah, I'm insecure? You got rejected once and now all of a sudden you're mad at everyone? One heartbreak doesn't matter"
At this point, everyone was looking at the two making Jungwoo feel pressured.
Jungwoo shook his head and grabbed Lucas's hand and made his way past the crowded hallway but was stopped by Doyoung again.
"don't just walk off. Jungwoo this is a game! Do you really think he's gonna be with you after this is all over!" Doyoung yelled as angered filled his body
"hey hey you don't know me calm down" Lucas tried to separate the two but nothing was working.
"oh yeah, now you really like him?"
"yeah I do"
Jungwoo felt his phone buzz and took a quick peek.

"why do you have to be such an asshole!" Jungwoo yelled as he stepped closer to the older.
"Wow~ look at that, tiny Jungwoo finally speaking his mind. Come on unburden yourself!"
"do you know why we're best friends? I do what you want! All the time. I'm just living in your shadow!" Jungwoo can feel himself about to tear up as Doyoung just laughed.
"no, it's because I'm fun and your boring. What do you think nerve is?! It's not gonna turn you into a different person that's not how life works! You will never be a player"
"yeah yeah right, I know how you like living in the moment Doyoung but remember this moment because you're the one that peaks in high school, who is perfect and doesn't care for anyone but themselves. You go around thinking you're better than everyone else just because your PARENTS are rich and your face is pretty. If you wanna know where I am from now on sign up and watch me!" Jungwoo walked off hitting Doyoung's shoulder in the process who just stood there taking in what he had just been told from his best friend.
Jungwoo made his way to the window where the ladder was still hanging and hopped out onto the first step.
"Jungwoo you don't have to do this, you don't need to prove a point" Lucas stated but Jungwoo ignored him and got out his phone to record himself.
Doyoung quickly went to the window but he was speechless. He didn't know what to feel and was ready to see his best friend fall to his death because of him.
Jungwoo took a deep breath in and took a step forward feeling the ladder shake beneath him but still managed to stay on his feet.
He then quickly but shakily walked across the ladder to the other side where people were cheering for him and helped him get back into the building.
Jungwoo looked back to the other side of the building where he saw Doyoung staring at him with nothing but pain in his eyes
