" Kymo wake up" I heard a soft voice in my ear

I opened my eyes to a blurry figure of diamond

" Your phone has been ringing like crazy, I think it's your mom" she says handing me my vibrating phone

I wiped my eyes to see "ma" across the screen

"Hello? " I asked weakly still in a trans.

"KYMANI! !!!!" a little girl voice talked into my phone

"Who dis?"

" your little sister duh!" She says

" Wassup ?"

"Where are you? mama Imani wants you home now! Can you pick me up some candy? Why your room so junky? I got lost in your closet by the way. What are you doing-"

"Aye listen London, Ima be home in a few I'm doing sum " I cutted her off

"Bye big head" I said and hanged up the phone

"You have a little sister...?" Diamond asked

"Yeah, on my dad's side of the family. She been through a lot and I guess she just got back from her being tooken away from the guy who killed our my dad"

"She does. Me and my family is all she has" I said in honesty

"My grandma should be here in a few, you should get going, it's almost midnight"

"Yeah you right, but if that nigga Devin come back call me" I said as I put on my shoes.

"I will" she says following me out to her front door step.

I turned around and hugged her tightly

" Thank you " she softly whispered

" It's no problem, I told you I got you" I whispered back

We was inches away from kissing when I got popped with a hard stick.

I turned to see a old woman standing there in defense.

" Oh my god... kymani this is my grandma, grandma this is kymani " she introduced

"Why is this young boy here so late at my house you know i dont like th a time diamond? "

" Grandma devin came and attacked me, kymani was just here to make sure I'm ok."

"What?!? Why didn't you call the police diamond. You can't expect some thug to save you. Didn't you learn that with devin?!?"

"Kymani isn't Devin. He's unique and different. He came through for me" she says as she smiled at me.

Her grandmother looked at me.

" Wait I know you...." She says.
