"It was scary yet exhilarating at the same time, to start working abroad at such a young age. I was afraid that I wouldn't even have enough money to live. London was an expensive city after all. But I was glad to find out that I found work so easily. Modelling is really fun. And I reached lots of my dreams because of it."

"What dreams?"

"You know. Sending my sisters to expensive private schools. Buying a bigger house for my parents....."

"And for you? What have you given to yourself?"

"Fame" she answered, half-laughing, half-serious. "And a pretty little studio apartment in London. It's really tiny, but in a good neighbourhood. And it's mine, that's the most important thing."

They were walking together around Patricia's beautiful, Japanese style garden, a glass of wine in their hands. It' s been ages since Sungjae discovered simply talking to a girl was that fun. Of course, she's exceptionally beautiful. The words that came out from her mouth sounded prettier as well.

Girls always flocked around him ever since he was in high school, no doubt knowing who he was, and how much money he had. And they always talked to him as if he were some sort of God. He hated it when they did that. He even looked down on them because of it. He never had to chase anyone. It was always about choosing the prettiest one, played with her for a few months, then breaking up with them when he's bored, giving them some sort of gems as a breaking up present. No one had ever complained of the arrangement, proving that it was all they ever wanted in the first place.

But this Park Sooyoung was different. There was mild admiration in her eyes, but she kept her distance, sitting at least 30 cm away from him, whereas other girls would be all over him by then, pressing their breasts on him and whispering at his ear.

"So? What's your story, CEO Yook? Who are you?"

It was another first. No girls ever really asked her that, as if they genuinely wanted to know him, and not just make friends with his credit cards.

"Oh. The usual. Parents having their own business, and I was brought up to continue it, expand it. Went to Korea University, then Cambridge. Then the army, and after that, officially working at the company."

".........you spoke about your life as if it was ordinary."

"It is."

"Do you enjoy your work?"

He was taken aback again. He even had to ask the same question himself.

Do I enjoy my job?

"Yes. Yes, I actually do. Most of the time."

"Ah. That's great, then. A life when you enjoy what you do is a life worth living for."

He was awed. "It is, isn't it?"

"Definitely. I firmly believe it."

".........shall we take this conversation elsewhere?"

"Where do you have in mind?"

"The hotel I'm staying."

"I don't know. I'm not sure I should go there with you or not" she honestly replied.

"What should I do to assure you, Senorita?"

Sooyoung chuckled at the nickname.

"Go to this diner with me."
