That was her magic,

she could still see the sunset,

even on those darkest days.

- ATTICUS

Gina was nervously walking in circles while she was waiting for me to come. I took a second to take a look at her. She grew up so much in the last few years. She is a lot taller and stronger. She looks beautiful with her long brunette braid and red flowy dress. You would never guess she has been through so much. I suppose they were right when they said that not everything that's broken looks broken. I notice her body relaxed as I walk up to her.

"Where the hell were you!" she yells at me " We were supposed to meet at a trade fair two hours ago! I bet you were with that awful  'friend' of yours"

"His name is Max. And as you said he is just my friend, nothing less, nothing more." I said as I felt my cheeks starting to blush.

" Yeah whatever like I care. Let's go, we can't be late " she walks away from me " I don't even know what is this gathering for anyway. Mom came yesterday when you were with Max and told me we have to be home at 4, not a minute later."

Okay, the fact that mum is home is already weird enough. Eight years ago she had to leave us alone so she could go around the country to cure people that were injured in a war between Geni and Banu. We haven't been in such a good relationship since then. Yeah sure she is a doctor, she has to help people, I get that, but I was only 11 when she left, Gina was 8 and our father had just passed away. Not only she went away but she also made another family there. I don't know will I ever be able to forgive her that.

Our house is in the center of the village, so it didn't take us a lot to get there. It is actually quite a big house for only three of us, but my dad and grandfather built it so granny didn't want to move out. As we came closer I noticed two man with huge swords standing in front of our door. " What the hell" I say to no one in particular. Gina looked surprised too. " Okay let's just get into the house and see what's happening" I whisper so only Gina could hear me while pushing her towards the house. We are walking slowly so I can wrap my hand around my sword. Just in case. As I walk past them and try to open doors one of them grabs my hand and stops me.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" he makes strong eye contact with me." Unless you have permission you can't get in." I feel my blood pressure getting higher. Who does this guy think he is. The worst thing is he is unbelievable strong so I can't free my hand. And I suppose attacking these guys wouldn't be the smartest idea now. But if that's the only way...

"What are you talking about? Why would I need permission to get into my own house?" I say as I take my sword and swing with it at this guy. He grabs it with his bare hands and at that moment someone comes out of the house.

"There will be no need for that" I look behind and see this grey-haired, older man. He is tall in his forties, I would say. He is wearing a long blue cape and he looks so familiar.

He glances at me with an awful smirk on his face. "Please miss Ember, get in. We were expecting you "
