Chapter 1 - The End of Jamber

Amber was right, this was the end. Jonah wasn't in love with her, and he couldn't do anything about it. He had his eyes set on someone else, Cyrus. Amber had speculated for a while that he liked other people, specifically Cyrus, but she had no idea her speculations would come true.

It happened shortly after she had confessed to Andi that she loved Jonah. She was upset, and decided to confront Jonah about the problem. "I don't know what to think Jonah. You say we're dating, but you don't treat me like it. Is something else going on?" He stared at the ground for a minute and then managed to gather enough courage to confess something to Amber, "For a while now, I've had certain feelings for Cyrus. When I first began to feel this way, I didn't know what to think, but then after a while, I realized I like him. The first thing I felt when I came to this realization was shame, that I couldn't be gay, because society said so. I guess up until now, I've kind of felt alone, I thought if I told you, you would judge me, but I guess now, I don't really have a choice. You wanted to know the truth, so there it is."

Amber was in shock, she didn't know what to think. On the one hand, she wanted to be there for him, help him through it and build him up, but on the other, she was heartbroken. The man she just realized she loved, was out of her grasp. She thought about the whole situation for a moment, and finally decided to give him a hug, she would try to be a good friend if she couldn't be something more.
