He didn't know exactly what love was....he didn't know what it meant to feel love, to be loved.
But in that moment he felt a strong ache in his chest that made him yearn for his beating heart, maybe he'd be able to love if he hadn't grown cold over the years.
"Aiea....I'm-" he reached up to caress her cheek, to rub away the tears but she flinches away, her eyes harsh, "I don't need to hear it, you stupid humans and your stupid emotions, I didn't mean it..." She rubs at her eyes angrily, sniffling softly.
She couldn't stop crying, it's something she hates about this new body of hers, emotions are a hundred times more difficult to control and a lot more confusing.
This time she allows him to wipe her tears, to hold her face in his cool palms as she tries to calm down, anger and fear don't mix well, "You went to the witch...." She mumbles as he retrieves a handkerchief from his jacket pocket.
"Yes,"
"What did she say?" Her ears were pointing towards him now, drooping a little but he knew she was merely pouting now, she had done this many times before as a cat, her ears drooping forward was something she couldn't escape even in this human like body.
Miles didn't want to answer, he wanted to forget their little argument even occurred, she was his companion, a friend, no matter what she was.
"Miles," her tone draws his attention down to her eyes, "She said something in your life will end....that your life might end,"
Aiea doesn't seem surprised, she wasn't, she knew the side effects of dealing with a witch and death was a natural and expected agreement.
"Everyone dies some day it's not like-" a sharp knock at the door interrupts the feline-girl, making her clamp her mouth closed quickly.
"Stay here," Miles glances at her face before heading down the stairs, trying to ignore the fact that Aiea was trailing after him.
Their guest didn't even wait for them to reach the door and instead invites themselves in, "Miles! It's been ages my friend how are you holding-"
The stranger stops and stares at the two, his dark bottomless eyes locking onto Aiea, "Oh Miles......we have a problem....."
