"el," max stares into the comforting, chocolate eyes of her girlfriend, grinning giddily. el leans in and pecks max's lips in response, a small smile on her lips.
"i love you," the words slip out of the redheads mouth so easily she doesnt even realize it.
"what?"
max panics, shooting up. "i-im sorry- i didnt mean to- i mean-"
"you dont love me?" el asks, in a quiet voice. she sits up, aswell, looking at max with her sad-eyes that were just filled with joy a few moments ago.
"god, el-" max cups the other girls cheek, running her thumb along her cheek.
"i love you, alot," she admits in a low whisper.
el just stares at her, silently.
"im sorry- you dont have to say it back- i dont want to make you uncomfortable-" she stammers as she quickly retracts her hand from el's face and ducks her head, letting her hair cover her bright red face.
"max," el says softly, moving max's hair out of her face and tucking it behind her ear. max looks up at her shyly.
"i love you so much," el says confidently, and before max can reply, she leans down and presses her lips onto the other girls, cupping max's neck with her hand.
el pulls away, and max breaks into that same goofy grin from before as she leans their foreheads together, her hands remaining on max's neck.
