Once Trixie got out of her car, she rushed into Katya's front door. It was unlocked so Trixie opened the door without even thinking. It was all natural to her, but not right now. Katya's apartment was pitch black other than the candle on the kitchen counter that made the place like lavender.
'Kat?' Trixie whispered into the dim living room.
'I'm on the couch just walk forward' The husky voice of Katya echoed into the lavender scented room.
Trixie noted and walked forward. As Trixie walked forward her eyes, barely adjusted to the darkness, saw the shadow of Katya laying on the couch, her phone was on the ground like she had dropped it.
'Kat, what's wrong?'
'I just need someone to talk to.'
'About?'
'These feelings trix, it isn't normal to feel this way. Especially when I'm successful and should be grateful for the life I've been given... I just don't deserve it at all.'
'katy- '
'No Trixie, it's true and you know it. I'm sorry but I just don't deserve this... I don't deserve you either'
Katya was sobbing. So, Trixie did what any best friend would do, she picked up Katya and took her to her bed. Played her down and tucked her in. Then she did what she thought was best.
'Katya. Brian McCook. Listen, I appreciate you so much. You're my best friend, and the only friend I'll ever need. You deserve to be here in everyway possible. Trust me, you've made me so happy over the years and I cannot thank you enough.'
In the darkness Trixie could see the tears in Katya's eyes. At that moment Katya sat up and gave Trixie a hug. Signifying that Katya would be so much different without her best friend in her life. She couldn't live without her. Once Trixie pulled away from the hug, she looked at Katya's clock on her nightstand.
'I better just stay, its so late.'
'please do, if you want you can sleep on the cou- 'Trixie interrupted this thought
'nah I'm going to sleep in here with my best friend forever.'
Trixie then walked to the other side of the bed and laid under the covers with Katya. she felt safe in that moment. At home. In the darkness she could see Katya smile.
'Thank you Trix, so much'
'No problem, that's why I'm here.'
Trixie wrapped her arm around Katya and rested her head on Kats chest.
'I'm always going to be here for you, I love you' Trixie whispered. Thinking Kat was asleep.
'I love you too trix'
