Thank you, awesome reader, for checking out The Kuru War. For a lot of you who did not grow up in an Indian household like me where the names Krishna and Shiva are common knowledge, or if you are just unfamiliar with the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, this might be a great opportunity for you to explore one of the oldest living mythologies in the world. It is important to note that I am just borrowing ideas from the aforementioned epics and not retelling them. My story is entirely fictional and is a major reimagination.
That being said, I am still trying to stay authentic to the source material in some aspects. Most importantly, I want to capture the time and culture of the continent in which the events of Mahabharata unfolded. So, I am keeping significant Sanskrit words/names and including references of events that came before Mahabharata in the classical Vedic timeline. To accommodate readers of all levels of information on the topic, I will try my best to make these references optional and keep the story accessible. On top of that, I will also create dedicated posts providing additional information like maps and translations wherever necessary(and on requests). That being said, I am open to all kinds of constructive suggestions and feedback on any of my works. In fact, I will be grateful for any opportunity to learn and grow as an author.
**UPDATE 6/25/19** Rama's Guide to Mythology is now published as part of The Kuru War. It is an evergrowing archive of Sanskrit translations and supplementary mythology for any reader who wishes to use it. Have fun!
It is without a question that this is purely a work of art and is not meant to hurt any individual or group. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the author's imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
Lastly, it should go without saying that my work is currently marked as "All Rights Reserved" so please don't try to use it anywhere without my explicit permission :)
Thanks a lot for your time and I hope you enjoy the story.
