New story! Hope you like~~~~ IT!
-----------------------------------------------------
The first light of dawn was streaking the night sky with pink and palest green. I watched the sky slowly fading into darkness from my bedroom window, the dark sky seemed to have drawn my attention away from reality.
I shifted slightly on my comfy sofa and my shimmering gown swished around my hips from my sudden movement, I opened my window wide enough to feel the cool damp wind nipping at my face.
I sighed heavily, this place is not as inviting as before. Ever since I came back from my vacation, I felt as if this place was violated when I was gone. I shook my head violently, I need some rest for school tomorrow I haven't had much sleep since yesterday.
-Morning-
I got up earlier than usual because of a cool wind rushing around my room, I blinked several times like a movie projector and realized that I had forgotten to close my window last night, with a lazy move I slipped out of my warm bed and shut the window door.
I heard a voice drifted faintly up from below calling my name demandingly, "Rene? Rene! Get down here!" Aunt Margaret called. My eyes shot open and I ran into my washroom to comb my thick hair and brush my teeth, I slipped on random clothings I found laying on the floor. I rushed down the stairs nearly tripping on the second last step and gaining my balance, I jogged in the kitchen.
As soon as I stepped foot in the kitchen, Margaret began rambling about school and how I need to keep my distance away from strangers and other insignificant things that I was told several times before.
I basically nodded without concentrating on a word she was saying, "Are you going to have breakfast?" she asked turning off the oven. "Actually, I don't have time, I don't want to be late either so I better get going." I responded hastily and turned on my heel.
I honestly didn't enjoy eating in the morning, never really need breakfast either. I jogged up the stairs to my room, my room was beautiful- very ancient and the designs on the crown walls were perfectly sculpted. I grab my bag and looked at myself in my full length mirror, I was any other teenager, but I looked pretty decent. I didn't really pay a lot of attention to my appearance but because it's the beginning of a new school year, I had to. I was also called one of the 'populars' at school. I hated being center of attention, I also hated being popular.
You see i'm not as girly nor a tomboy, I just throw random clothes on and right now i'm currently wearing a plain black t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. My curly golden blonde locks reached at my hips and my eyes is a honey brown-hazel colour.
My self-confidence drowned knowing that my best friend also known as Jeremy is not going to be at school, he's still on vacation and coming back next week. A disgusting knot twisted in my stomach and I hastily dashed down the stairs.
'I can do this, I can do this.' I chanted in my thoughts. As soon at my hand wrapped around the knob of the front door Margaret stopped me, "Rene, you can't just go off without eating. You need your protein-"
"I'll get a bagel before school" I said cutting her off, although that was a complete lie I didn't want to hear her whining or complaining. I dropped a kiss on Margaret's tow head and turned to go.
"But, Rene-"
"And I'll probably go home with Kennedy or Maya after school, so don't wait dinner. Bye!"
"Rene--"
I was already out the front door. And close it behind me, cutting of Margaret's distant protests, and stepped out onto the front porch. And stopped.
All the bad feelings of the morning creep over me again. The anxiety, the fear. And the certainty that something terrible was about to happen.
The walk to school was silent, the roads were deserted originally because of the early morning. I looked up at the sky, the sky overhead was not blue but milky and opaque, the air was stifling and I felt eyes on me. I caught sight of something dark in the branches of an old quince tree and I was certain I saw eyes piercing through me like it can see through my cores.
I shivered, and quickened my pace to school, I straightened up as I approached the school's entrance. Then glanced around, self-conscious. The tree beside me had leaves that flutter and dropping lightly on the moist and damp grass.
I was surrounded the instant I stepped into the high school parking lot. Giggles and questions filled the air as I tried escaping the center of attention, this is going to be a horrible year I can just feel it and among that, I can feel eyes piercing through me like from before.
