Chapter 1

A year passes and I had grown at a fast pace. I look about six now with long dark black hair and olive skin. I over hear Marcus, Caius and Aro comparing me to someone named Renessmee. Someone named Carlisle keeps them updated. Aro says that I am special and that I will do great things for him and the Volturi, but I've never known what he means.

I'm never left alone. Aro has me doing a lot. I'll read the histories and details about other vampire clans with them or being taught how to read and write. Lately they have me learning Balley and they say soon they are going to teach me other languages. It's near impossible I that I'm able to sneak away and do as I wish. Aro says I'm never allowed to go outside because there is people out there more dangerous than him. It has never stopped me though. I sneak out and go sit on the roof; just enough to hide myself but still see everything. I like to draw the outside world. It is fascinating to me. To see how they act, talk and dance. One thing that I find curious is when two people touch their lips together. I've never seen it before. I'm not quite sure what it means either.

As time goes on so does my relationships with some of the others here. Alec and Jane are a bit quiet but they are the closest thing I have to a friend and siblings. They've started to join me out on the roof sometimes when it is night. Alec came up once when it was day and he was sparkling. I've never seen him do that before. I got scared for a second because I thought something might be wrong.

But he reassured me saying "It's what vampires do when they are out in the sun. It's nothing to be concerned about."

Puzzled I looked at him "so why don't I sparkle?" He never did answer, just sat staring out at the world. I knew never to push when someone didn't answer my questions, Aro says "It is rude to pry if one doesn't wish to answer."

But why couldn't I get the questions out of my head?
