Pool Time

Newgate's annual pool party. The biggest party of the summer. The only party that everyone looked forward to. The booze. The games. The food. You name it.

You and your roommates, Nami and Robin, were slowly getting ready to head out.
You decided to wear your (h/l)(h/c) hair up into a messy bun.

“Should I wear this? Or maybe this! Oh! I would look so cute in this!” You overhear Nami’s voice and Robin’s giggling through your bedroom door.

Oh Nami…

You decided to wear a two tone one piece swimsuit. The top with the bust is white and the bottom a navy blue with lace up sides. You decided to wear a pink and white flowered sarong around your waist.

“Oh y/n! I love what you’re wearing!” Nami exclaimed excitedly as you walk out of your bedroom.
You accepted the compliment. Grinning at the redhead you say, "Thanks Nami! You both look amazing !"
“I guess we’re all ready to go.” Robin smiled at the two of us.

The three of you heard the music blasting as you arrived. People hanging out and drinking in the front yard. You walked along the side of the house going towards the back. You spot a raven haired man with a cowboy hat.

Ace.

Shirtless. Dark cargo shorts. Orange cowboy hat. Red beaded necklace. His muscles..

Nami smirked. "Looks like someone just wants to eat him up."

You blush and shake your head, breaking you from your thoughts.

"Oy!! "

The three of you look around to find that the voice belonged to none other than Marco. He waved you guys down making signs with his arm to go on over.

At that moment, Ace noticed Marco and looks over in your direction. A smile creeping up on his face. Ace sure was happy to see you guys.

"Hey (y/n)!" Ace walked on over to you. "And hello to you Robin and Nami."

Robin smiled over at him. "Hello Ace. Are you enjoying the party?"

"Yeah, I'm kind of used to it by now. It is every year you know ? I could really go without cleaning up afterwards… " Ace pouts.

You and Robin giggled.

"Well I am definitely gonna go and get my tan on ! " Nami said excitedly. "Wanna come Robin?"

You knew what Nami was doing. And it looks like Robin caught on.

"I would love to. Have fun with Ace!" Robin said as she followed Nami towards some unoccupied lounge chairs near the pool.

Your cheeks turned slightly pink.

I'll get you back for this Nami.

Ace smirked. "Wanna go get some food? I hear Shanks is in charge of the grill again this time!" He chuckled.

"No way!" You grinned as the both of you started to head towards Shanks. "Hopefully they come out better than last year! I don't understand why Pops put him in charge of the grill after almost burning down his house!"

You and Ace both laughed.

"Maybe he owes Pops a favor…? " Ace wondered.

The both of you continued to talk and eat for a while. Every now and then the both of you would stop to greet someone or yell at Luffy to save some food for everyone else.

You were enjoying Ace's company. He was just so easy to talk to. Not to mention, insanely good looking. This crush that you had… you wanted to tell him how you felt but you didn't want to risk ruining your friendship.
