We had just finished watching The Sound of Music and I was heading down to apologize to Loki.
Watching the movie again put me in a good mood, so it was as good a time as any to see Loki. The thing that really lifted my spirits was when we all sang along with the music (minus Steve), and they complemented me on my voice. During intermission, the others got back and we ate our pizza watching the rest of the movie. I even was able to snag some Ranch Dressing to dip my pizza in. Hey!!! Don't knock it 'till you try it!
Anyway, I arrived at the door to the room that contained his cell before long and stopped.
Loki? I asked tentatively, before opening the door.
Mari? He sounded surprised that I was talking to him.
I'm coming in... I sort of warned before opening the door.
He had gotten up, and was standing right in front of the glass closest to the door.
"I'm sorry for getting angry and running off..." I apologized after entering the room, staring at my feet.
"I am sorry for upsetting you." Loki replied.
I stepped closer to the cell, watching his face. He still looked very concerned about me, and still could not understand what had happened earlier.
"You know, I was only concerned for your well being after yesterday. I just want to know, so I can help you." Loki's voice was soft and there was nothing but worry behind his words.
"Yeah, I know. I just reacted too quickly. It's been a long time since I courted last and they never went well. Mostly because they were human..." I looked down at my feet, feeling slightly ashamed.
"When were you last courted, if you do not mind me asking?" Loki asked softly, looking down at me with a gentle gaze.
"Late Victorian era..." I muttered. "I have been pursued since then, but nothing official."
"Good."
"Good?"
"A beautiful woman like you should have suitors until the day she is engaged. That way she realizes just how precious a jewel she really is."
I felt sort of flustered at his response. I understood it was a compliment, but it just felt so nice to hear coming from him. My cheeks heated up.
"So, you want to know about the fit I had the other day?" I asked, pulling a chair in the corner to sit in front of him.
"Please."
And so I told him of my past attacks and the information they provided me.

I pulled a costume from the rack and looked it over. Cheep material, sloppy design, and inaccurate details. I put it back and walked over to Steve who was looking at a TMNT Donatello costume quizzically.
"Have you chosen something to try on yet?" I asked, nodding toward the wall of costume pieces.
"I am so confused by them all, like what is this? A frog?" He tapped a Raphael mask.
"Turtle actually, but close!"
"How am I supposed to dress as something I don't know about?"
"What about something from a movie you have watched? You could do something Disney... You have watched the Disney classics right?"
"Yeah... What do you have in mind?"
"How do you feel about dresses?"
"What?!" Steve blushed, flustered.
"So that's a no." I laughed, moving past the Elsa dress. "How about this one?" I held up a full Christoff costume.
"Isn't that that guy from Frozen that sells ice?"
I nodded, waving it in font of him. "I like it... It's a visual pun."
"Alright, I'll go try it on. It's the best idea I've seen."
He walked off to the change rooms, and I looked around for the others.
After everyone had found a costume, we dropped by my house so I could grab my own outfit for the party. Now we only had to get some food and decorations.
