(Hey everyone! I wrote a short story that I think y'all will love. Read and comment to let me know what you think.)

Vickie's Point of View

The bright yellow sunshine shines through my window and I open my eyes only to be blinded. I turn over and let my back face the sun. My clock says 9am. That doesn't make me happy. I get up and grab my phone to check for messages. My phone reads," STORAGE FULL DELETE TO UPDATE!"
With nothing better to do, I scroll through some of pictures to see what I can delete. My thumb stops scrolling when I see a picture of my ex-boyfriend Ken. It's a picture of us walking in the park hand in hand. We were so happy back then. We were both 24. Young love my momma used to call it. Ken was every black girls dream guy. You know, tall, dark, and handsome. Not that dark though! His light brown eyes were captivating and his kisses were dreamy. Sitting on the edge of my bed, I began to wonder what happened between us. And when did everything go wrong.

1 Year Ago.......

" Hey baby. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to cancel our date again tonight. I love you and I'll explain later."
I roll my eyes and wish that he could see my face trough the cell phone.
" Love you too." I say as dry as possible.
Ken thinks that just because we've been dating each other for six months, that he can just blow me off whenever he wants to. And without any explanation whatsoever. Oh yeah! That's right! He'll just explain later! I put up with men because? I'm still working on that answer. My thoughts are interrupted by a buzz on my phone. An unknown number sent me a message.
It reads," Tell Ken if he knows what's good for him, he will show up at the crib at 9 tonight."
My heart begins to pound in my chest. I always knew that Ken had a past, and I never bothered to ask him about it either. It's his business and not mine, but when the past comes to me, it's time to get some answers. I call Ken immediately. After three rings I'm about to hang up when he answers.

" Hey baby! I can't really talk right now...."
" Ken this not about the date! Who's number is 654-777-8989? And what do they mean when they said meet you at the crib? Hello? Hello?"
"Ummm..."
And the line goes dead.
