Barely managing to get on my knees, Skoll pulled the sword out of my back and I crawled over to Aidan's small body that was shaking in pain and trying to breathe. Cradling him to my chest, I cried knowing I had the wrong gift, that I was unable to take care of him. "My child, I failed to do the one thing a mother is supposed to do. I promised you I would always protect you and yet you are the one nearly without life. I will not ask for you to forgive me as I do not deserve even the thought of asking such things." I spoke softly in between sobs. My child's eyes were slowly blanking out. He was dying in my arms.

"Hehe. I warned you Ylva. You took the step I warned you not to take. This is your punishment for your foolish stubbornness." Aro spoke like a madman. The rest of the Cullens found us gasping at the scene they were witnessing

"Aro." My mate would see to the murderer of our son. I know he will, while I made sure no one could touch our son again.

"Carlisle, old friend. You know why I had to do it, don't you? You understand, right? Carlisle? old friend?" Aro was afraid, knowing he had broken the long friendship between my mate and him, and that death would come to him within moments.

"You were right, death did come because of our son. You saw your own death. Goodbye Aro. Old Friend." Carlisle ripped his head off and threw it in the fire that Skoll and Hati had started. When his head was being burned in the flames, a blinding flash appeared and we were no longer .

"Ylva." That deep voice I recognized it from so long ago. My brothers quickly stood in between the being and I but they bowed their heads in respect. I did too while still holding Aidan close to me.

"Thor, why honor us with your presence?" Skoll asked.

"I heard Skoll and Hati had left Asgard to help someone so I came knowing you must have been the one they were aiding." He spoke to me directly.

"Correct sir. Sahir- I mean Ylva is dying from a wound made by her own sword." Carlisle answered.

"Ah, and you are?" He asked turning to the blond doctor

"Carlisle Cullen, sir. Ylva's mate and the father of Aidan, our son." I was proud of my mate, he didn't show he was a bit intimidated and was very respectful.

"A child? May I see him?" I growled and snarled, not allowing anyone to come closer. The Valkyries put their hands on their swords but Thor stopped them.

"He is dying as we speak sir. The enemy kidnapped and strangled him in an attempt to weaken our sister's willpower to fight." Hati explained.

"That just won't do. We can heal him and you, however it will cost you." Two Valkyries came closer but I didn't allow them to take Aidan from me.

"What will I have to give up?" I asked knowing he didn't mean money.

"Your status as Asgardian. You shall not be able to return there, nor will you see your brothers again." While it saddened me it wasn't the worst price to pay.

"Done." Earth had become my home after a few hundred years.

"You will no longer be immortal. You are just as vulnerable as your mate." Emmett grumbled about being called vulnerable as a vampire.

"Done." I didn't expect any big battles coming up now that Aro and the Romanians were dealt with.

"Also time will pass before your son will return to earth."

"How much time?" I narrowed my eyes not liking the idea.

"A human lifetime. He will be taught about his heritage and trained." Eighty years? That's way too long, He'll be all grown up by the time he comes back.
