Zone Part 15

Rory had gone to talk to Zuri, I knew she wasn't handling things very well. I remembered the look in her eyes when she finished Kayla, she looked like she was breaking mentally, I remembered her and Kay talking and laughing that very same day, she was starting to grow a soft spot. It's been over a week and now that Blake who I guessed she was closest to other then Hunter and Derek was leaving, she seemed to be even worse for wear, when Rory came back she looked a little annoyed.

"You okay Ror?"

"She's not holding up, her aura used to be blue, not its very dark purple"

"Aura?"

"Oh...remember when you first met me and I was part siren, still recovering?"

I nodded

"I've been able to see people's Aura, its the air that's close to you. Like reading how you are. A lot of people nowadays have blue or purple, you have orange, it means your stressed"

I chuckled, the way she explained things was nice, she always tried to make it in a way you can understand.

"So hers is dark, is that bad?"

She sighed, looking at her feet

"It usually means broken, hurt, or emotionless."

Nodding I kept thinking about it, it did make sense that a siren could read peoples auras, but side effects of being one of them...which meant everyone that changed and survived has side effects, my mind going to hunter. I thanks her and ran to his room, finding him sitting in a corner and reading

"Hunter *cough*"

He looked confused

"Yes? That's my name"

"You...do *cough* have side effects of the transformation?"

He looked a little shocked

"Im...stronger, and faster"

I smiled and realized, we did what we set out to do.

Zuri had been in her room, everyone was worried about her, some of them were upset with her for killing Kayla, but we couldn't have survived with her for long enough. I wanted her to know we didn't blame this on her, but she was always training out side, in the training room or she shut herself in. I hated feeling like nothing I did helped my friend, Jesse told me he wasn't trying to make a big deal out of the death, everyone was suffering losses, but what he hated was that Hunter turned and was saved. Hunter was affected as a kid but NEVER changed, so why did Kayla? I knew I couldn't comfort him now, he wanted to go to another base, I knew Eden was going to replace him or so he said. I saw Rory, her red hair tucked behind her ear and displayed on her back

"Hey...How you finding it here? I know you've only been here for a bit"

She smiled, something about her was unsettling sometimes

"It's been alright, Emanuel has made sure I'm doing well and stuff, thank you for your concern"

I nodded as she walked away, curious on what it was about her.
