I hate airports.
I hate people in general.
But if it means seeing Violet's eyes light up the way they were right now, I sucked it up and kept walking.
After careful consideration reading the letter again, I said 'Fuck it' and booked two tickets while sending a quick RSVP to the Volturi residents. I got an almost instantaneous reply that said they were happy to accept us.
"Can I grab a quick Starbucks please?" Violet grinned. I sighed and muttered a 'five minutes' and followed her through the large crowd of people.
Why are there so many people?
And why are there so many children?
Why do people keep making them?
"I love chocolate." Violet sighed.
"I hate airports." I sighed making her scowl.
"Its all going to be worth it. You'll see." She hummed happily.
"What makes you so sure?" I asked, mindlessly toying with the lid of the cup.
"My heart says so." She smiled.
"The same way your heart told you to walk through the alleyways at night?" I snickered sarcastically. All I received in turn was a harsh look.

"We're landing in ten minutes! Ten minutes! Can you believe it?" Violet jumped in her seat.
"I can't believe it." I breathed, not very pleased with the situation. They say that good company makes the journey seem shorter... just great. I can't believe we are only hours away from the very place I was evading, my whole life.
"Thank you again for doing this for me. It really means a lot." Violet smiled. Now when she looks at me so genuinely, how was I supposed to be mad at her?
"Your welcome..." I grumbled.
The lights overhead flickered, and everyone buckled their seat belts. I put mine in place before closing my eyes and praying to any entity out there for help.
I agree that I have been bad, but please help me.
I held my breath at the sudden scent of blood and adrenaline that blew through my nostrils while the plane descended.
Please don't let us get killed.
The wheels of the plane just barely brushed against the concrete making a few people jump in their seats and a few kids cry.
And please don't make me fall for them.
The plane touched the ground.

"Why is it so crowded?" Violet scowled, pushing through people to get to the clock tower.
"Do I look like I know?" I groaned, shoving away a guy who was getting too grabby.
"Wow. I can see a clock. In a tower." Vi smiled.
"Then that must be the clock tower." I rolled my eyes, making her send me a dirty look.
"I'm sorry, I'm just nervous." I sighed. Before she could answer, a built figure in a black cloak stood before us, completely ignoring the crowd surrounding the square. Being around 5'7, I easily was at par with his average height and glared at him - not sure if he could see me.
"Volturi." I spat. His lips - the only part of his face that I could see - had turned upwards the slightest. He stepped forward, to the point that the tips of our shoes were almost touching - a clear sign of dominance. Of course, me being me, with my uncanny ability to annoy the fuck out of people, began questioning him.
"State your name." I growled. He tilted his chin upwards slightly, just enough for me to see his pitch black eyes and sneer.
"Joel Volturi. You must be Cleo Spade and... " He trailed off as his eyes fell on Violet. She craned her neck upwards to meet his eyes and her jaw went a bit slack.
"Hi..." She murmured. He looked back at her with an expression mirroring that of a lovesick fool.
"Violet..." He muttered, in a trance.
Just as his 'puppy dog' attitude came, it had flown away with the snap of a finger. He looked back up at me with a neutral face and gestured me forward.
"Come. The masters do not like to be kept waiting."
"Joy." I smiled sarcastically, hiding the clear irritation that laced my thoughts. As he led us behind the building and to a sewer in the ground, I knew I was knee deep in shit.
Literally.
