Kellan and his LC follow their guide to the Commander of Camp's office. Kellan hasn't been to Camp Two before and notes the differences between their old Camp and the new one. Over all he approves of the differences, but he does have a bit of nostalgia for what is now lost. The old Camp was completely demolished to keep any one from ever finding out any of their secrets. He wonders if they demolished the old caves that were used for storage as well? The caves that held their greatest secrets. Of course they would. The last thing they need is for the civilians to find those truths.

But the warriors are still the keepers of the truth and keep their history of their two peoples. For some, the dream of finding Earth is all that keeps them going. Hoping for a peaceful life away from all this death. They refuse to consider that Earth might be destroyed in their own unending wars that they had first fled all those centuries ago. So long ago...could there be any hope of Earth having survived? Any hope of other humans still existing? Or had they killed themselves off with the fighting and succumbed to the lure of nuclear weapons?

Kellan shudders. The destructive force of nuclear weapons very clear in their history. It's what destroyed the worlds that had once been lush and vibrant with life that are now no more than empty cinders, dead of even bacteria.

The thought of perhaps some surviving nuclear wars is just about as bad. There are photos archived of the people sick, dying and changed from the radiation hell they'd been bathed in. That is when his people, the first of the Warriors took over. Sickened by the senseless death and destruction they ended it all and refused to allow the civilians any learning that might allow them to think once more of starting wars.

Anything that civilians used that could be remotely connected to fighting was strictly monitored. Like demolitions and certain manufacturing. In time the warriors had no choice but to allow civilians into more of the knowledge of some things because their people were needed to learn fighting and the weapons had to be built by the civilians. But by that time the civilians were content to let the warriors be the ones to die and be hurt.

Especially once the shifters found them.

Whole colonies had been destroyed before the warriors were informed and able to fight them off.

The early days of the war had been horrific for all. But once the companies were able to get to the colonies the shifters found that it wasn't so easy to get to their new favorite food.

Now the end of the war could be in sight...

Kellan is brought out of his revery by the sound of fighting coming from the door their guide stops in front of. The young cadet turns white. "They are all in there. I would suggest that you wait until they aren't fighting before interrupting them." With that the cadet turns and runs out of there.

Kellan watches the cadet run away in bemusement. He thinks he'd rather join the young cadet than go through that door. Unlike the cadet his duty is here and he can't run from it. He takes a deep breath and opens the door fully before he and his nervous LC enter the room. There four sets of eyes turn to look at the one that dares to interrupt their argument.

Kellan is sure that he sees relief in Jannsen's eyes as he realizes who was foolish enough to interrupt the fight.

"Commander Kellan, LC welcome to Camp Two." Jannsen is quick to say before Kadance or her husbands could say anything.

"Kadance, Jayse, Tommy this is Commander Kellan and his LC, newly arrived from Dayla." Kellan can see the immediate interest light up in Tommy's eyes but nothing changes in Jayse and Kadance just looks at him in anger.

"Commander, as you can tell we were in the middle of a discussion. If you would please leave so that we can continue?" Kadance is barely able to hold back her anger and under normal circumstances Kellan would be more than happy to comply, but this isn't normal.
