Tamia POV

I'm so glad August and I decided to give our relationship a try. I really love this dude, so why not be with him?

August family is having a cookout & he asked me to go with him. I got up to go get ready. I picked out my clothes and decided to wear a sundress with sandals. I took a shower, got dressed & did my hair. As I was heading into the kitchen my phone started ringing.

It was a unknown number but I answer anyway.

Me: Hello?

Unknown: Well hello there Mia.

Me: Who is this?

Unknown: Dang baby you forgot about me already? How could you forget your #1 man?

Me: Alright now enough with the games who is this?

Unknown: It's me Jacob..

Me: Oh hell no! What in the hell do you want?

*he laughed* "I called to check on the mother of my child is that a crime?

Me: Actually, yeah you left me by myself to raise this baby on my own & now you calling me? Nigga please go to that chick you left me for.

Jacob: See that's the thing... She left me & took my money.. She played me.

I'm smiling from ear to ear. " Aww, about time somebody get yo ass. And what does that have to do with you calling me?"

Jacob: Come Mia I wanna work this out I wanna be there for you & my child.

Me: First of all I would never ever get back with you. Second you are a damn fool if you think I'm going to let you be around my child. You left right? Since you left I've been fine without you. Beside I have someone else much better than you.

Jacob: Are you fucking serious Mia? You got another nigga? Fuck that shit you better end whatever you got with him or you and him gonna get. And that's on my child.

And with that he hung up..

I heard my door open & to my surprise it was August. This is exactly why I didn't want a relationship it's too much! I could lose someone I love dearly..

August: Hey baby,

Me: Hey..

August: What's the problem?

I smiled " Oh nothing.."

I looked at me for a long time.. " Tamia I know when your lying, so you might as well tell me now."

I sighed " Come on August I don't wanna talk about it now. I'll tell you later okay?"

August: Fine.

Me: Good, now can we go please?

August: Sure let's go, everyone can't wait to meet you.

I didn't say anything, I'm nervous to meet his family. Y'all know how Mothers be they never want to let their baby boy go. And I can't deal with that.

Once we got in the car we started on our journey which isn't long his mother's house is only like 15 minutes away.

We arrived at his mom's house damn it was pack.. I didn't say anything the whole ride.

August: You okay?

I put on a fake smile. " Yeah I'm good.."

August: Come on relax. You'll be fine my moms is a cool lady. I got your back.

We got out & went inside.. Here we go..

August Mother: My baby! Aww look at you.

August: Hey Ma.

AM: And who is this beautiful young lady?

I smiled, " Hi I'm Tamia."

She smiled, " Oh so this is the young lady you've been talking about?"

I could see him blushing out if the corner of my eye.

AM: Well sweetheart it's nice to meet you & your little one. Your welcome anytime. Come on let me show you around.

She grabbed my hand & lead me to another direction. I looked back at August to see him laughing.

Wow, this wasn't so bad after all. She's a real nice lady. And most of all she didn't judge me..
