BEFORE I MET THEM I THOUGHT I was stupid. But no. This stupid dinosaur calls an army, Ronan's army and tries to defeat them by himself.

"At last!" Drax laughs, that psycho. "I shall meet my foe and destroy him."

"You called Ronan?" I asked not believing my eyes.  Before I can worry about this problem, another problem arise ready to destroy my life.

"Quill! Don't you move, boy."

Nova and Gamora run towards where all the ships parked and we follow them after hearing Yondu's threat. "Don't you move!" All of us hurried to get inside the individual pods.

"I told you, you can't fit. Now, wait here. I'll be back." Rocket said before entering the pod leaving Groot on the ground.

Nova has the orb and she's in the front, in a hurry to get to my ship. The Saakarans are trailing behind us and I think they know that Nova has what they're looking for because her pod was is the main target.

"Rocket! Get them off Nova until she gets to the Milano!" I said watching Gamora fly to their direction. "How?! We've got no weaponry on these things."

"These pods are industrial grade. They're nearly indestructible."

"Not against necroblasts, they're not."

"That's not what I'm saying."

"Oh!" Rocket said in realization. He quickly controls his ship to crash on one of The Sakaraans ship, destroying them. He also crash into one of them, going through the ship as it explodes.

I tear one of the ship's roof, throwing the pilot out and got inside of the ship. "Let me borrow your ride!" After I got inside I fire at the necrocraft using their own weapon.

When I look to my right, I saw Gamora going down to lose the necrocraft. I want to help her but my focus was on Nova. My heart race seeing her surrounded by a bunch of Necrocraft.

Gamora will manage.

"Quill! I'm down!"

Okay, maybe not.

"Quill, I'm trapped! I have to head out." As soon as I heard Nova's distraught voice my heart increases it's beat. "You can't! These pods aren't meant to go out there."

"I have no choice."

I groan in frustration following her stubborn ass to open space.

Where these pods shouldn't be.

I watched the necrocraft fire their necroblasts at her ship, relieved that they missed.

I watched when she has nowhere to go and that makes her an easy target since she's outnumbered and unarmed.

I watched as one of the Necrocraft fires a bomb and her pods shatter into pieces and I think a little bit of my heart did too.

I watched the orb get taken away and they all turn to leave her there to die.

But then after one of them went back inside, the remaining turned around and fire their necroblasts all at once at her.

All I can do was take a sharp breath and watch in horror.

A blue light bursts out of her and I have to look away because of the brightness

A blue light bursts out of her and I have to look away because of the brightness. When I look again the sort of energy protected her and destroyed the necrocrafts.

"Rocket." I said with my mouth agape. "Are you seeing this or am I on drugs?"

"Holy shit." He replied as the blast died down. Whatever that blast was, it has faded and what's left is Nova floating helplessly. Even though I have to, I can't just leave her there.

"Quill, come on." Rocket's sad voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Her body mods should keep her alive a couple more minutes, but there's nothing we can do for her."

My gaze was still on her helpless body when I hear Rocket sighs. "These pods aren't meant to be out here. In a second we're gonna be in the same boat." He said sympathetically before turning to leave.

I'm looking at her and I just can't find it in me to leave.

"Aw, damn it."

"Quill?"

"Yondu!" I ignore Rocket and contacted Yondu. "This is Quill! My coordinates are 227K324."

"Quill! What are you doing?" He asked flying next to me and I keep ignoring his protest. "Just outside Knowhere. If you're there, come get me. I'm all yours."

I put my mask on and open the pod knowing I might die with her but it's better than leaving her to die alone.

"Quill! Don't be ridiculous!"

N O V A

It all feels familiar.

Me, floating helplessly in the vacuum of space. Suffocated even when surrounded by beautiful skies.

The difference is, I felt an empowering energy flowing through me. It bursts out of me like it has been waiting so long to be released.

I don't know what happened but it dies down and I felt helpless again. The first time my master saved me. Who's going to do it this time?

I still can see but I'm losing my vision.

I can still hear but it's all muffled.

When I thought that this is my death and no one will save me this time, between my blurry vision I saw him.

Peter Quill.

He's the one that saves me this time.

I want to shout my gratitude and hug him with all my might but I can't move nor talk.

He opens his mask and placing it to me. I want to scream, putting his mask back on him but I'm helpless. I feel the energy ignite again like it aligns with my emotion.

A light shine over his frosty face and red eyes due to lack of oxygen and pulls us in to an unknown place.

Fortunately it has oxygen so we both can breathe again. I immediately gasp for air and so did he. I closed my eyes, feeling the oxygen run through me. I felt a comforting touch of Peter's hand on my cheek making me open my eyes and see his worried figure.

"Quill." I breathe in relief and gratitude. But then I remember the strange bursts and my eyes widen in horror. "Don't touch me!"  I said balling my fist and attempt to push him away but he didn't budge.

"I can kill you." I curse myself for the last sentence came out as a whisper making his eyes soften.

"Too bad you can't stop me."

My eyes scanned his face and a small smile forms when he has a soft smile on his lips. "What happened?" I asked softly still clenching his shirt.

"I saw you out there." He paused scanning my face. "And I couldn't let you die."

That is honestly the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. That sound sad when you think it out loud. "I found something inside of myself. Something," He paused and I smile at his words thinking maybe he's not so bad.

"Incredibly heroic."

My smile falls faster than the rising of his ego. "I mean, not to brag but-" At this point I stare at the ceiling tuning out everything he was saying. I sigh, visibly annoyed, "Where's the others?"

He's a bit taken aback before answering. "They're back at Knowhere."

"And where's the orb?"

"It's.. uh, well. They got the orb."

"What ?"

Suddenly a door to our left slide open snapping both our heads to the left revealing a bunch of people pointing a gun at us.

"Uh. Hello?"

"Oh, God." Peter groans plopping his head on my shoulder despite my confusion.

"Welcome home, Peter."
