                              » James's Pov

When Aura came, I didn't beat around the bush. I told her straight up that I needed her help with my investigation that Beth asked me to do.

"No," she said, shaking her head, "Absolutely not. And you're going to tell Beth that you can't do this 'investigation' for her because you're just putting your life in danger. This isn't a video game, James, it's the real world. You fall down when you bleed, and you die when you get shot. And knowing how reckless you are, something terrible is going to happen while you're doing all of this. Oh and did I forget to mention that you're only sixteen? Who the hell do you think you are? Sherlock Holmes??"

I rolled my eyes.

"Beth's your friend! Don't you wanna help her?"

"Yeah," she replied, "Of course I wanna help her find out how exactly Sadie died, and of course I wanna help her get her name cleared, but I'm going to do that in my own way. I'm not playing Sherlock Holmes with you, James, and take my advice and drop this case."

I knew she was going to freak out and worry, but I wasn't going to leave it alone.

"Alright," I lied, "I'll drop it."

                              »Kenzie's Pov

I kicked my converse off and walked down the hallway, and up the stairs, opening the door to my bedroom; my fuzzy socks warming up my feet.

I got my laptop and went to Google instantly.

I typed Ridgefield High in Google search, and my school's website showed up.

I clicked on the students section, and went to grade 11, looking at all of the student's names.

My eyes scanned Aura, James, Aidan, Beth, Dessen, Destiny, Katy, Susan, Parker, Reina and everybody else in my Language and Drama class until my eyes locked on his name.

Ryder.

He was actually back! I wasn't hallucinating! He was actually back!

Back for revenge.

I picked up my phone and quickly dialed James's number.

"Kenzie," he said, "So..?"

"It's actually him, James," I replied, "He's actually back."

James didn't say anything for a whole 2 minutes.

"James..." I said, "Are you still there?"

"Yeah..." he replied, "Sorry, it's just...why...why is he back?"

"He probably wants revenge," I said, "It's the only thing I could think of."

"You don't think he's going to try to kill us.....right?" James asked.

"I honestly don't know James. He left because of us, and he's back because of us. Did you tell Aura yet?"

"No," James said, "Don't say anything to Aura. She's already stressed with Beth, and now her sister's return, plus she's got a whole bunch of school meetings these days since she's on the committee for giving extra help to those who need it, and for cleaning up the environment. If we tell her, she'll crack. Let's just...wait a while."

"James, we have to tell her. I know she's busy, but she's going to get so mad when she finds out we knew all this time, and didn't say anything." I reasoned,
