                             » Aura's Pov

"What the hell is he doing here?" Parker snapped, turning around, facing me, with anger evident in his eyes.

Okay so I don't know if I've mentioned this - but Parker doesn't like random people visiting his shelter without him around. 
It's because last time, when I was volunteering and watching the puppies like a good girl, some random dude and woman came in and almost shut the place down. When Parker came through the door, he told them to get lost, and then told me that I'm not allowed to let anybody adopt dogs without him around - and I'm not allowed to let them look around unless he's there.
So how was I going to tell him that Shane came from the storage room with a chair in his hand because I let him volunteer without thinking - or knowing it was going to be him - because some lady at my school asked me if her son could come along with me?

"I'm Shane," Shane said, making the matter worst. "I came here to adopt Aura. Where's the paper work for my signature?" he joked. 

"You came here to adopt Aura?" Parker asked, slowly, as if he was choosing his words wisely.

"No, you fucking shit. You're stupid as hell - just like her. I came here to volunteer." Shane said, rolling his eyes.

Great.
Consider me dead.

Parker looked me dead in the eye. "You," he said, his eyes burning mine, "I need to speak with you. In the back room, now!"

I nodded, and followed him to the back room.

"Look - Parker, I can explain," I began, but he cut me off.

"I want him gone, now." he said, bluntly. 

"But Parker!" I went on, again, "His mother is such a nice lady and she - she just wants him to do good! He hasn't gotten any hours down yet! Parker come on, at least do it for the lady!"

His facial expression changed for a minute, and he almost looked like he felt pity, but then it changed back, and he clenched his jaw.

"No," he said again.

"Fine," I huffed, and walked out of the room, and over to Shane.

"Outside, now." I said, grabbing my sweater and putting it on, while walking outside the door of the Shelter. Shane followed a few seconds after.

"What?" he asked.

"I have an idea," I said, smiling, "And I think it'll work."

                              » Destiny's Pov

Aidan didn't speak for a whole minute. His jaw just dropped, and he stared at me like that for the minute - and when it was up, I wasn't expecting the answer I got.

"I knew it," he smiled, "I knew that you liked me. I have that effect on girls, plus, normally when girls hate guys, it's because they're in love with them."

I smiled, "So true."

"But, I'm with Beth." Aidan said, shrugging.

"Then leave her for me," I replied, grinning.

Aidan rolled his eyes, "No."

"Why not?" I asked, slightly pissed now.

"Because I love Beth."

"And you hate me. Right. Got it." I snapped. 

"I don't hate you, Destiny. It's just that - I made a promise to Beth and I can't break it. If I hadn't made a promise to her, I would be with you."

"Why?" I asked, confused, since Aidan never showed any feelings of love towards me.

"Because I like you too," he said, smiling.

"I'll see you tomorrow then," I said, and leaned in, giving him a kiss on the cheek. 

As I turned around and walked away, I knew he was smiling.

He believed me.

He really did.

OKAY SO I HAVEN'T UPDATED SINCE A WEEK AGO (AYYYYEEEE ABOUT A WEEK AGO, WEEK AGO. LMAO SORRY I HAD TO) AND I KNOW I HAVE A SCHEDULE WHICH IS WEDNESDAY'S AND SATURDAY'S BUT I WENT TO A PARTY ON SATURDAY SO I COULDN'T UPDATE AND LAST WEDNESDAY I WAS REALLY BUSY!
