beside you kuroo tetsurou [ ✓ ]

a chilly tuesday night

the lights flickered on and a knock brought your attention away from your laptop and towards your door where kuroo stood leaning against the door frame. he was in nothing but sweatpants holding his own pillow and blanket loosely in his arms. "good evening," he greeted in a cheesily.

you couldn't help but smile and roll your eyes at him. his choice of being indirect was amusing and so childish. you already knew what he wanted so him beating around the bush was unnecessary but aided to your entertainment. "good evening," you responded, nodding at him courtly, "how may i help you at this fine hour of—" you glanced back at your laptop to check for the time "—12 midnight?"

he chuckled, quite delighted you didn't shoo him away and played along instead. it was a way to welcome him and so he walked himself inside your room, making sure he closed the door behind him and switched the lights back off. your lamp soon became the only source of light, as well as your laptop, bringing about a dim lighting in your room. "i think i heard your bed call my name. i wasn't about to be rude and ignore it."

you laughed, grabbing the nearest stuffed toy on your bed to throw it at him for such a terrible excuse. it was clever but absolutely dumb. "stupid," you said through your laughter, still scooching over to make room for him on your little twin sized bed. it was meant for 1 young adult; having two made it squishy but nonetheless comfortable.

kuroo made himself comfortable, placing his pillow behind you so you could lean against it and lazily throwing his blanket over both his and your legs. he laid on his side, curled up and snuggled against the side of your leg. "oooo toasty," he joked, "it was chilly in my room."

another sweet laugh from you reached his ears. it was annoying most of the time bullshit spewed from his mouth but at times it really was endearing. the guy meant well and just wanted to be around. you wondered why you two even bothered having your own separate rooms when 4 times a week kuroo made an excuse to be in yours.

then again, the other 3 days you were probably always in his room.

your hand gently rested on top of his head, massaging his scalp soothingly. his hair was damp so you figured he just came from showering. this was definitely the reason why he had bed hair all the time.

"you gonna sleep soon or are you going to keep me lonely?" kuroo lifted his head to peek up at you, a goofy smirk on his lips. his nose scrunched lightly when you rolled your eyes at him. "what? can't a guy get some attention? i already came without a shirt for you." before you could retort back, he laughed at himself and waved you off.

"you really are weird," you sighed, bringing both hands back to your laptop to begin saving things and exiting out of tabs. it wasn't important enough that you had to kick kuroo out so you let it slide this one time. as soon as your screen cleared, you shut your laptop down and handed it to kuroo who eagerly set it down on the ground where it wouldn't be stepped on in the morning. he even reached out to turn your lamp off. "i can't believe i stopped homework and netflix for you."

he laughed as he guided you down to lay beside him. "as if you actually do shit during reading week. don't be dumb. just cuddle."

you shook your head, unable to hide the smile on your face, and obliged to his request. it didn't take long before you were snuggled up against his chest with his arms wrapped around you like you were his teddy bear. like always, you were engulfed in his usual comforting warmth. his body wash was evident this time around too since you figured he did take a bath just recently but it wasn't too harsh on your nose. in fact, it was a rather sweet smell that was oddly familiar.

"did you use my fucking body wash again?" you asked, pushing yourself away from his chest.

he closed his eyes tighter and tried fighting the laugh bubbling in his throat. his arms held you tighter and tried to squish you back against his chest.

"you ass! i told you to stop using it! you use body wash like it's water! stupid!"
