A week later...
"Thank you for coming. This means a lot to me. I know you two weren't on the best terms but I'm glad it was you who was there till the end" Mariah's mother spoke softly holding her pain back.
"It's no problem at all. And again I'm so sorry this happened. Please do not hesitate to call me if you need me Okay!"I said hugging her.
"Thank you so much"
I gave her my number and then I had left. The funeral was rather sad. But it was one girl who just couldn't control herself. I had wanted to check on her so I went into the bathroom where she was. She was at the sink rinsing her hands.
"Are you okay?"I asked
"why do you care?"
"What do you mean?"I asked
"Everyone knows who you are. You're MJ's first love....her only love...you're all she ever thought about. We was supposed to have a....family....what am I supposed to do now..I can't raise a baby on my own"she said. I had just now noticed the small baby sitting in the near corner asleep in his car seat..
"I'm sure you can get financial help from the government. Raising a baby is only as hard as you make it to be."I said
"No...this isn't what I signed up for ! And I'm not finna do this by myself"
I stared at her. "What's your name"
"Milan....Milan Dennis"
"Come on. Let's go get some food"I said going to pick up the car seat.
We walked out and went to my car. I strapped the little baby boy in and got in the car. "You...have a kid?"
"Yes I have a daughter. Did Mj not mention her"
"no"
"Well just like you me and Mj were supposed to have a family but some stuff got in the way"I mumbled
She nodded. "So how old is your son"
"3 weeks"
"What's his name"I asked
"Jalon Elijah Dennis"
"That's cute"
I went to IHOP and we got seated and ordered. Jalon had woken up and just stared at me. "Hi"I smiled.
"Can I pick him up"
She nodded. I took him out of the car seat and sat him in my lap. He smiled putting his hand in his mouth. So cute. With wild hair. Just like Justice use to have as a baby.
"Were you pregnant before you met MJ or was y'all together for this"i asked
"I was pregnant before"
I nodded. When our food came we chatted and the whole time I held Jalon in my arms.
"Hey I'm gonna run to the bathroom"she said. I nodded and finished my food.
Jalon started whining so I gave his pacifier. He calmed down while looking up at me as we waited for Milan. I wonder where they live. Were they living with MJ?
I wonder did she leave them money for the support of Jalon. I hope so. She needs all the support she can get as a young mother.
I pulled out my phone finally turning it on seeing Jessie's messages asking me if I was okay.
Me:Hey baby I'm okay just getting some food.
Jessie💕:Okay let me know if you need me.
Me:Okay. I'll be home soon. How's Justice
Jessie💕:She's good. She's been watching cartoons all morning
Me:Okay good
I say there for at least 7 minutes. She still hadn't came out the bathroom. I put Jalon over my shoulder and went in and looked.
No one was in the bathroom. This girl fucking dipped..... I let out a small sigh and went back to my table.
"Do you need a refill ma'am"the waitress asked.
"No ma'am just the check please"I said.
She nodded and brought me the bill. I paid and left a tip then left. I'm mad but I'm not even mad.
Like I'm mad that she just abandoned her baby like this. I'm mad she just gave up on him without him barely knowing her.
When I got home I sat the car seat on the couch. "Mommy"Justice yelled running to me. She jumped in my arms and I kissed her
"Hey princess. You feel okay?"I asked
She nodded "Jessie let me cook!"
My eyes grew wide. My mutha fuckin kitchen better be spotless. "She did! That's good. Can you do mommy a favor?"I asked.
She nodded. I put her down "this is Baby Jalon. Now he is really little so you can't mess with him. And plus he's asleep so you have to be quiet. Can you watch him for me while I talk to Jessie"I asked
"Yes ma'am"
I kissed her forehead and went to the kitchen. "Hey"I smiled kissing Jessie.
"Hey how was it"she said putting dishes away.
"Well I kinda have something to tell you?"
"Why what's wrong?"she asked turning around. Her nipples was poking out of her tank top. Kinda hard for me to focus.
"Oh um okay boom"
I told her the whole story and how we have to take this baby to the Police because MILAN ASS WANNA LEAVE HIM.
She sighed. "Well where is he"I asked
"In the living room"I said.
We went in the living room and Justice was watching him sleep. "That's pooh"
"Awww he's so little"she said
"I know."I said.
"What's his name?"
"It's Jalon"I said.
"He's cute"she smiled
"Soo what do you think we should do"
"Umm we can go to the police. He's just gonna get put in the system though."
"But I don't want him to go there baby. He's so young. He don't deserve that"I said frowning.
"I know baby. Let's just look after him for today and then decide tomorrow okay"she said.
I nodded and sat back in the couch. Maybe she will be back for him. Maybe she just....is confused right now. She will be back.
While he was asleep I cleaned up after justice and then went to cuddle with Jessie. She held me close as I rested my head on her chest. She kissed my forehead as I closed my eyes falling asleep....
