takes place shortly after iron man 2

Tony and Pepper were asked to do a joint interview. Not because they're a couple- since they decided they weren't ready to go public about their relationship yet-  but because Tony defeated Justin Hammer and Pepper is the new CEO. And who else would be doing their interview other than Christine Everhart. Perfect.

"You know I can't stand that girl, Pep." said Tony as Pepper finished applying his makeup.

"Didn't seem that way when you had sex with her." she answered dryly.

Pepper genuinely didn't like that Everhart girl. Not only because the woman had sex with her boyfriend -which was already a good enough reason to dislike her, but because she was simply a bitch that Pepper couldn't stand. She had asked continuously for a different interviewer but nothing worked.

"Pepper, seriously. That was so long ago. I barely even remember."

"Tony, I don't like her either. I don't like her attitude and I especially don't like the fact that you two had sex. She doesn't know we're together and I don't want her trying anything just because she thinks she can." Pepper was now looking down deeply into his eyes with her hands on his shoulders, attempting to get her point across.

"What makes you think I'd let her try anything, Pepper?" Tony questioned slightly hurt. It's been 3 months of him proving his changes to her ... did she still not trust him?

"No, no, i'm not saying you would entertain her in any way, Tony. I'm just saying that I don't want to sit there and watch her shamelessly flirt with you and not be able to claw her eyes out with a genuine reason without outing us." Pepper tried to reason with a slight laugh to lighten the mood.

With a slight chuckle at the thought of Pepper clawing this lady's eyes out, he rubbed her arms in a reassuring way. "Possessive Potts, huh? That's your new nickname, perfect. But trust me, it'll be fine. I'll speak up for myself and set her straight if she crosses a line."

"You better. You seem to be a pathological flirt and not even notice."

"Who, me?" his voice cracked with shock. "No idea what you're talking about Possessive Potts."

"Mhmm, sure" Pepper rolled her eyes with a smirk at his lack of realization before she continued, "And Tony you have to behave towards me too. I don't want a reporter of all people to find something out because you couldn't keep your hands or comments to yourself. And I'm serious."

"Now that I'm not so sure about Potts. At the office, maybe. But our only safe spot? With you dressed like that?? Sitting with ur bare leg directly next to mine?? And your hair down?? And those- "

"Tony," she said sternly. "I'm serious we have- "

"- heels?? GOD, those heels Pep! You're asking- "

"- to stay professional."

"- too much of me now."

"Tony!" Pepper gave him her most serious face, attempting but slightly failing to hide her blushed face from his words.

"Alright, alright. Best behavior. Can't interact with my girlfriend at my own house, got it." Tony remarked in defeat.

Scoffing, Pepper walked away from him, but not without a grin plastered on her face for being able to tame her very stubborn boyfriend. This interview will be interesting to say the least.

this is short but i wanted to split it up into 2 parts

will do a part 2 of the actual interview soon if people like this & when i figure out how i exactly want that to go ... maybe pepper jealous... maybe tony accidentally outing them... we'll see.

also thinking about doing a chapter about their lives with morgan that we never got to see in endgame during the 5 year jump
