I still can't believe it. He saw it coming. He saved my life.

The doctor left, after I had gotten off the floor to sit on the edge of his bed. I stroked his head, suddenly crying. "Please be alright..I'm so sorry." I whispered.
MATT'S POV
"Please be alright...I'm so sorry." She whispered. Why couldn't I see her?? I know I'm going to be okay.
*
I had told her to close her eyes so it wouldn't ruin the surprise. I was supposed to take her out to a fancy restaurant. But then...I saw a truck come. She needed to live more than I did.
*
Next thing I knew, I could see her. But I was behind her. I ran up to her, and sat down, hugging her side. "It's fine...we're alright." I said. But she didn't even look at me, she just kept crying. I looked over, to see my own body lying there lifeless on the hospital bed. I took more damage than I thought...by the look of her, nothing really happened. That was my goal. To protect her.
*
I started crying then. She couldn't hear or see me. I stood up and started trying to punch things. "WHY!!!" I screamed at the wall, kicking the chairs.
Just then, she whipped her head in my direction. She looked frightened at first, but settled after she got up. She walked over to where she was just inches from me.
"Matt...." She whispered.
She started crying again.
"Please don't cry..." I whispered, touching her cheek.
She reached her hand up, and touched her cheek where my hand was. I wasn't sure if she could actually feel my hand or not.
*
I was suddenly awake. Lying in the bed. She was over by the window.
"Alex..." I whispered.
"Doctor!!" She screamed, then came walking over to me.
"Matt..." She started crying again.
"Ho-how did you know it was me..?" I questioned, starting to form tears of my own.
"I just had a feeling." She smiled, sniffling.
