Bruno
I woke up at 6, showered and dressed, then ran to the store to pick up some things for my evening with Tiona. The texts that we shared once I woke up made me smile and worry. She had been through a lot of tests today. I had already called the hospital and spoke with her doctor about staying past visitors hours, so movie night was a go. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to visit, with her immune system being so dysfunctional. But, her docs were cool and thought this would help boost her spirits. I planned to stay the night with her.
Tiona
Just when I starting relaxing and smiling again, the bad news comes and knocks the wind out of me. The bone marrow biopsy came back positive. The first time ever. I was terrified. I got so used to my neutrophil counts being low, no one knowing why, no tests proving cancer and just taking the GCSF injection to create white cells and going back to my life, carefully. This was an absolute shock! The doctors were now discussing radiation, chemotherapy or possibly a bone marrow transplant. A PET scan was ordered to see how far the cancer had spread, to help better determine the treatment. I finally got back to the room about 4 pm. I showered and prepared for my "date" with Bruno. I couldn't believe how much I missed him, it was like he had become a permanent fixture in my life. it was 6 pm and I began to get impatient. I listened to some music, took to Facebook and eventually starting walking up and down the halls. I couldn't leave the wing because of my low white cell count, so I ended up walking back and forth past the nurses station about 50 times. I eventually just stopped and chit chatted. They could tell I was anxious about the visit. We laughed, reminisced and gossiped about my date. Before I knew it, two arms engulfed me from behind and a soft kiss was planted on my neck. The nurses mouths literally hit the floor as my eyes popped out of my head. I turned, and Bruno looked me deeply into my eyes as he said, "Hey beautiful, you ready for movie night?" I shook my head yes, he grabbed my hand, waved goodbye to the nurses and said, " you guys have the night off," with a laugh. I could not hold back my smile.
We got back to my room and it had been transformed with beautiful paper flowers (he remembered that I could not be around real flowers at this time), a huge Minnie Mouse plush (another of my favs), a table with snacks, a DVD player and lots of comfy pillows to prop ourselves up with. Ryan had just finished setting up and waved goodbye to both us. Bruno told me to get comfy and to pick the first movie as he went into my bathroom. He came back out in green plaid pajamas and fluffy Goofy socks. He then jumped on the bed. I burst into a fit of laughter at his appearance. I loved that we both had such a love for all things Disney. "OK T, what's up first?" We watched movie after movie as we cuddled and talked, learning even more about each other, and becoming rather comfortable with the fact that we had a lot of things in common. Eventually, our legs became entwined as we stared into each other's eyes and then wordlessly and softly caressed each other. Finally, our lips found each other. We both softly moaned against each other's lips and became even more frenzied with our caresses. It is so cliche, but fireworks were seriously exploding in my head. We both pulled away to catch our breath, never breaking eye contact. "Well, that went well," B stated. "Well, that settles it. You ain't getting rid of me lady!" "I wasn't planning on it, Mr. Hernandez," I smiled up at him rolling my r's. He laughed and then pulled me back into his grasp as we watched the next movie.
I woke up shivering, looking around the room. I started looking for blankets to help calm my latest bought of the shivers. The toilet then flushed in my bathroom and out walked Bruno, looking sexy as hell with his dark curly hair mussed on his head. I smiled at him trying to hide my chillies. He noticed and immediately climbed back into bed with me. "You cold, boo?" I shook my head and he told me he knew just the thing to warm me back up. We kissed even more passionately than before and explored each other's bodies until all of the pillows and blankets were on the floor and sweat was pouring down our faces. We smiled sleepily at each other as he said, "how's that?" "That'll work," I retorted as I grabbed my blanket off the floor and nestled into his arms to fall back to sleep effortlessly. Man, I was so glad he stayed.
