Life is definitely funny and I had to admit I was truly blessed. Things were going really well for me, in all areas of my life. Sold out arenas all summer, a residency in Vegas, and soon the Super Bowl; on only my second album. Plus, my personal life was finally falling in to place. I have always heard, when it's right you know, and now with T, I was finding that out first hand. Even though I knew I was already in love with her, I was still surprised at how much I missed seeing her face over the few days that I was away. We called, skyped and texted each other several times each day, just like high school kids.
My time in Hawaii was way too short as always, but I enjoyed spending time with my family. They knew how to keep me grounded and to help me continuously count my blessings. To them I would always be little Bru, and it felt good to just relax. My fam was nervous and proud for my upcoming tour and the surgical procedure I was going through for T. I ensured them that I could handle it all and that this was all a part of God's master plan. Christmas Day went off without a hitch, the kids were overly spoiled as always and all of us adults were thankful. Tiona won my family over with her handmade gift. She made a peyote portrait of my family, including mom and dad. We all choked up at the beauty of it, and were in awe at the amount of time that she had to put into it. Tiona gave her shy smile and was at a loss for words, when we skyped to thank her. She also said, that all she had was time while in the hospital so it was not a big deal, she was glad to do it.
A few days later I was on my way to my opening night at The Chelsea in Vegas. It still hadn't hit me, that the little boy from Waikiki could pull something off this big. The boys and I met up before we hit the stage, during our normal prayer I burst into tears over how truly thankful I was to be with these amazing musicians doing what we loved. We promised to rock it out, and then we were onstage. We found our rhythm quickly after the long break, and just went with the flow of the night, playing a lot of covers trying to get our timing together for New Years Eve. The intimate venue was nice, I felt like I was really interacting with the crowd.
After the show, I quickly showered and called Tiona again since she hadn't answered before the show and didn't sound very good when I spoke with her last. She answered in a raspy voice with a forced happiness. We talked and she gushed about how happy she was for me and I dished on the things that I wanted to fix for the next show.

B was back on the mainland and en route to Vegas. We briefly spoke as he drove to the hotel. I let him do most of the talking because I knew I did not sound good and did not want him to worry. Later, I slowly climbed back in bed as my phone vibrated letting me know I had a voicemail and missed call. Shit, I missed Bruno before he hit the stage. Unfortunately, I was in the bathroom letting loose everything in my stomach as my head hung over the bowl. I vowed that I would not miss his call after the show no matter what my body tried to do. We chatted after the show, and I told him about my slight fever. He immediately rattled off how he was on his way to the hospital and yadda yadda. I told him to knock it off, he knew he wouldn't let his fans down and I would see him in a few days anyway. I laid the argument to rest by telling him I was on antibiotics and when they knocked the illness out of me, the procedure would still be a go.

Man, that New Year's Eve show was the business! The crowd was electric and I found a way to include T in on the New Years festivities. Eric set up his iPad during the countdown so that Cindia and T could celebrate with us. At midnight, I turned around and mouthed love you real quick to the camera and finished the show. She gushed about how great the show was when I called later. She sounded much better and I promised to be with her in two days with my surprise. I couldn't wait to see her face when she found out.
