Non-romantic, of course
"No! Hero, why are you doing this?! Let me out, let me help you!" Sidekick cries helplessly, struggling to escape the trap Hero has just shoved them in. Hero has tears in their eyes as they look down at them – and, for the first time that Sidekick has seen, pure terror.
"I don't think anyone can help me this time. I don't think I'm coming back."

He had enough; enough of people telling him to sit back and watch. No, not this time, this was personal. Mark had taken everything, every last drop out of him. Even out of Celine, who Damien thought of as an everlasting flame. He sadly chuckled at the thought, how nothing seemed to break her down. Older by only ten minutes and yet she acted like his sole protector, but no more.
Celine banged her fists against the ice. It was thick, and even so, he could hear her pleas. The scene reminded Damien of an aquarium; dark, wet, and cold. Even now, it sent shivers down his spine. And yet all he could do was feel his throat lock up at the shivering scene. Eventually, words fell from his trembling lips, "Celine, please.." Just a murmur and she instantly hesitated, waiting. "Please rest, I..I know you're worried about me, about us, about everything." A shaken sigh, "But we are in this together, let me help."
"Damien.." Celine's voice came out as a whisper, as cold tears stained her pale cheeks.
"I have matters to attend to," Damien turned on his heel, crisps of light flickering around him. Celine felt her heart clench; for once, there was nothing between him and the world. She was shackled her until Damien came back. It was rare that one of them would take full control, and the motives, the ideas behind this change shook her. And yet, she felt pride. Damien, here he was, standing up for what he believed in, what they believed in.
And so with a smirk, Celine called out to her twin, "Damien, be safe, and this time..don't slam the door."
