Chapter 3

Isabelle's POV

*12pm*
   
I looked at my face in the mirror and contemplated if I should call Mia. I have already picked out the outfits I was planning to wear and bring for the hangout/dinner with Mia.
   

Well.....this morning, during breakfast while looking through my phone and responding to the birthday wishes, Mia texted me to wear something comfortable, but she also told me to bring something 'fancy', I think? Her exact text was 'Bring a classy dress that will make everyone's jaw drop and it should also look sexy but not too sexy ;) ' . Her description made it easier for me to pick out what to bring since I did not really own much dresses.

Not wanting to waste anymore time I quickly called Mia.

'Hello? Mia? '

'Hey Isa, are you already done? '

'Almost, I have already taken a bath and picked out my outfit but just wanted to ask if I should already change.'

Honestly, I didn't want to change so quickly if Mia would only reach at 1pm. Maybe I'm weird but, I take 1 hour to bathe but only 15 -20 minutes to get ready. It's probably because I don't know how to use or put on makeup, believe it or not. So I usually skip that part.

'Oh okay that's great. I knew you would be early! I'm 30 minutes away so you can estimate your time and be ready. Don't forget to bring a bag to put your clothes into, by the way. Ooo greenlight I gotta go bye!'

*12.32pm*

I ran to the door after I heard the knocks on my apartment's door.

'ready?'

'Yup! Let me get my bag'

I was pretty lazy at first and didn't want to leave my bed, but now I felt so excited.

I quickly took my sit in Mia's car and waited for her to reverse out of the parking lot. I told Mia to turn on her song playlist in the car.

Throughout the ride we sang songs from different genres and chatted. I did use all my manipulating skills to get Mia to tell me where we were going but it did not work.We continued being dramatic and even acted as if we were in a music video.

After a 40 minutes car ride I realized where we were.

Stockwell Orphanage

I could clearly see the sign at the front of the orphanage. Everything looked the same since last month. I haven't been able to visit this month because I was busy job hunting.
  
I got out of the car and pulled Mia into the building after she locked the car. I gave the lady at the reception a smile and ran in.

'ISAAAA ....MIMIIII'  , the kids came running to hug us.

I chuckled, 'I missed you guys too'

'Ihssa! Isa! Aunt Mimi say us t-t-that today your ermm ...yourr burt ...day' Little 3 year old Kyle shouted excitedly jumping on the spot.

'Yes, baby it is' I said smiling at how adorable he looked.

Suddenly he took out something from his pocket and shoved it into my hands.
' H-Happy Burtdayy....I wuv you Isa ' ,Kyle said and hugged my torso tightly.

I pulled him away and quickly bent down to hug him properly. 'Thank you so much Kyle! I love you too' . I kept his card into my bag, I can't wait to read it when i get back.

After a long day with everyone at the orphanage we left to Mia's house to change for dinner. I thanked Mia all the way back to her house for the surprise.

Throughout the ride back I thought about how much the orphanage has helped me. I grew up in the orphanage since I was 6, no one adopted me since the people who visited preferred babies. I made so many friends, they were my family until I had to leave at 18. I inherited my parent's money and my old house since they had already passed away after a tragic car crash when I was 6. I did not have any relatives as far as I knew, so I used all opportunities I saw to train and build myself up to succeed.

I got fired at my last job as a waitress, in a restaurant down the street, because I talked back to the pervert of a boss. Now I had to go job hunting to find a better job. I was going to quit anyways, since I already got a certificate of graduation from an online course.
