(Recap)
Sean was just chilling at the aquarium looking into the fishtanks trying so hard to flirt with a girl but soon enough she just walked away leaving him to sit there tapping on the glass.
"You really shouldn't do that." A soft and quiet voice came from behind him. He turned to make a comment back but nobody was behind him.
"It startles them when you do that."
This time the voice was next to him. There stood a girl with very vibrant hair. She kept her head down never looking up. Sean recognized her voice but couldn't exactly remember how.
"Don't I know..."
"No!" She interrupted quickly.
"We've never met before." She shyed away before he could say anything. When he looked back at the tank all of the fish had shown back up but only where she stood on the right side of him. He was about to go look for her but then two guys showed up.————
After speaking to the two guys who Sean learned were named Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. He told them he would be right back and ran off to go look for that girl.
He ran around the aquarium for hours and then finally he found her. There she stood in front of one of the biggest tanks in the whole aquarium mumbling. She looked so soft as she smiled at them, fish were crowding the corner where she stood. Sean was careful to not get caught as he got closer to her.
"You poor things, how could they keep you all locked away in such thin glass cases?" The girls hair slowly turned a bright green and she began laughing.
"Is he now?" Welp I'm caught.
"They say if you don't want to be noticed to have quieter footsteps." She smiled as she turned around.
"Uh Hey." Sean waved. He swears he's seen her before.
"Haha hello Sean." River gave in, how could she not he's to cute with his freckles and nervous smile.
"See I told you I knew you!" He smiled. "Only thing is how?" Sean really couldn't remember.
"I do believe you said I was cool once." River smiled at the memory.
Sean thought hard for a moment then remembered back to when he followed a girl who was walking about by herself late at night. "You."
His eyes met hers and he felt a similar feeling in his chest like last time.
"Holy crap." River was so certain that he was gonna pass out that she couldn't help but rush over and grab his arm.
"You okay there?" Her hair began to fade and turn purple. Sean just stared at her for a good two minutes.
*squeeze*
He hugged her. She smiled and hugged him back. Its good to see you too Sean. Its good to see you too.
Rivers hair slowly went back to the green it was before. She kinda missed his freckly face."Eh hem. Sorry if we are interrupting something but we should really go now."
Seriously? Was all Sean could think.
"I see we have a metal head and a brainiac. I'm River nice to meet you."
She didn't need to say anything allowed she knew the one man could hear her.
"Your a telepath." Charles spoke.
"I'm a lot of things." River said truthfully. Sean and Erik kind of watched in confusion. Sean unconsciously grabbed Rivers hand "What if she came too?" Now it was Rivers turn to be confused, the sudden warmth of her hand in his making her blush. She tried to bite it back but the shy girl she's always been began to show as the pink began to appear in her hair, eyes meeting the floor. Charles began to explain what Sean was talking about and Sean to be 100% honest wasn't really listening to what Charles was saying, he was to focused on Rivers face, and Erik was pretty darn aware of it. "What do you say care to join us Miss. Darling?" River thought for a moment, overtime it went from Sean holding her hand to her holding his shyly. "I uhm, Well it's not that easy uh..." River took a deep breath and let it out. "My brother is completely unaware of me being a mutant, to be straight forward with you my brother despises them, and as much as I would love to join you all he's all the family I have left. I can't just leave." Tears pricked at her eyes the water in the tank began to vibrate, her hair began to turn a dark blue and as the tears finally fell gray streaks began to form in her hair as each tear fell. The fish in the tanks around them swam to the glass almost in deep concern. Sean squeezed Rivers hand gently and she turned crying into his chest. "We'll just have to figure something out. That's all." He whispered to her. Charles agreed and Erik felt sorry for the young girl, he knew her pain all to well.
They offered to bring them both home but River passed on the polite offer. Sean chose that he would rather walk with River just to keep her company. She agreed. On the way to Rivers house she became nervous. Her brothers car was gone and so wasn't his wife's car meaning they were both still at work. "What if he finds out what do I do?" She mumbled, the two reached the doorway and Sean looked at her and held her hand. "Then you call me and I'll be right there to get you." He spoke with honesty and gave her his number. "I won't let anything happen to you." He whispered, River was feeling so many different ways that her hair was switching colors practically every second like a disco ball. "Why are you being so nice to me exactly?" River wondered curiously. "Because." "Because why?" River reaches up and held his face still so she could look at him. "Please Sean I need to know."
He wrapped his arms around her waist and rest his forehead against hers. "Take a breath." He said softly. River closed her eyes and let out a deep breath. The moment her eyes began to open his lips met hers, but only for a few small seconds. "Better?" Sean asked, "Yeah better." Her lips met his for just a few extra seconds, "Yeah, definitely better." Sean was a little taken back by what just happened, "You should probably head home now it's gonna take a while for me to try to hide this." River pointed to her glowing green hair and smiled. "When will I get to see you next?" Sean spoke quickly. "Meet me at the park across town tonight." River whispered in his ear and Sean nodded taking his chances he kissed her one more time, For good measure and ran off down the street screaming. River watched giggling as his sonic scream shattered a few street lights. "Sorry, my bad!" She smiled at him before heading inside the house blushing like crazy. She began forming an illusion so it seemed she had just plain brunette hair that way her brother wouldn't find out.
