"Quit staring""No"
"He's going to call the cops on you one day"
"Good, then I'd know he was thinking about me"
I rolled my eyes, " What are you going to do once he gets a restraining order? Or here's an idea! Just go talk to him."
"Are you on crack? I can't go talk to him, I'll be the laughing stock of high school. I'd like to walk into the boys locker room with a little dignity."
"You walk around here like Harriet the Spy and when people catch you, you roll out like Austin Powers. I don't think you'd lose much 'dignity' talking like a normal human being."
He huffed before catching the eye of yet another shirtless athlete walking back from PE.
It was useless to get my friends attention from the hot soccer player as we strolled down the hall to one of our many classes in West High. Not only had he caused me to miss lunch with his obsessive stalking, but I also didn't have a chance to plan with my new project partner.
The email I had read yesterday had pulled the rug from under me completely. It was a huge task that I was ready to take on. It was a prom proposal, however it was major scale. I'm talking confetti cannons, over six hundred roses and of course the expecting audience of everyone attending the Saturday night's football game. Sure I had done setups before. But this changed the game. The participants involved was a lot to handle.
I was thrown out of my mindless planning when I heard my name being called from behind.
"Rose! Hey wait up!"
Turning I saw are very own football star running towards me full speed.
"Yes?" I asked when he slowed to a stop in front of me.
"I was wondering if you had a chance to think of anymore ideas for Saturday?" Cody asked anxiously, running his hands through his hair, which by the looks of it, he'd been doing for a while.
I let out a soothing laugh. "Calm down, I have everything under control. I already ordered the pink and white roses, I also ordered the heart shaped confetti and balloons. I have my favorite company creating the banner that you, along with the rest of the football team will hold."
Cody's shoulders noticeably relaxed and he let out and awkward laugh. "Sorry, I guess I'm just kinda... freaking out a little."
"No worries, I have to get to class but I'll text you with any extra details, don't worry it will be amazing. Trust me, it's what I do."
With a smile and a wave we were both on our separate ways.
"So what's the moves for tonight Rose?" Adrian asked, finally removing his eyes from Cody's retreating figure.
"The moves? Could you be more specific?"
"The party tonight?"
I stared at him.
He blinked in disbelief. "Amanda Crowns party? The party she has every year? Last year Noah Hale got so drunk he canon balled right off the roof into her backyard pool? Ring a bell?"
Oh... yeah.
"Oh. So? Are you going"
It was his turn to roll his eyes as he deadpanned. "Of course I'm going. Imagine the eye candy! And you are going too. We need to find you a mans." He wiggles his eye brows suggestively.
"No." I frowned.
"What? Are you serious. You're going to sit at home, doing absolutely nothing instead of going out and living your life? Bull, no friend of mine is sitting home on a Friday night wasting away her senior year."
