Monday morning came quick. I had been thinking over and over how I was going to explain myself to Patricia when she didn't see me with Nick at school. I panicked and considered skipping my class but knowing how much each class actually costs motivated me to get ready. Classes were almost over and Christmas break was just around the corner. I was anxious to get out of school for a few weeks.

I made my way to my class still trying to think of the an excuse or something to keep Patricia off of my back until break, but nothing came to mind. After class I would usually find a quiet room in the library and eat lunch and do my homework. I arrived to my usual spot when Patricia spotted me.
"Hey you, what you up to?"
"Heyyy, nothing having lunch before my next class."
"And where is your boyfriend, what's his name again?"
"Nick" I said with a smile.
"Yeah he's still in class."
"Ah ok. I was telling the girls yesterday about him, he seems nice. Say how did you guys meet? Actually don't tell me. Maybe we can like all go out to dinner and you can share with the whole group. You do remember the group right?"
I kept smiling and tried not to choke on my own food. Why? Why was she so dedicated to bothering me and re-involving me into her cliche group. I was done with them. That was the past.
"Or do you think you're like better than us all of a sudden?"  She said with a light laugh.
I laughed, "Not at all. I'll see if Nick and I can make it. I'm very busy."
"Yes, I've noticed. Funny I've never actually seen both of you together on campus."
I panicked. Thinking if I should just come clear or just keep toying with her to give her a taste of her own medicine. I threw a big bite at my sub to buy time and laughed. She stood there waiting for my response with her french tip manicured hand on her hip. She wore an outfit straight of the movie clueless, super cliche if you asked me. She almost looked like a uniform school girl. Always going above and beyond when half of the students here wore pajamas to class.
I finally swallowed and cleared my throat.
"He should be here soon. Why are you asking? You keeping tabs on my boyfriend?"
"No I just find it weird you know. You having a boyfriend, since you haven't dated since high school." She said laughing and pointing at me as if it was so unbelievable. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Well—-
"Hey you." Nick said all of a sudden. Walked past Patricia and bent down to give me a kiss on the cheek.
"I was looking for you." He said making himself comfortable in the chair next to me.
"Oh. Hi Patricia. How's it going?"

I was sincerely confused I kept looking back and forth between Patricia and Nick and then finally settled on Patricia's expression. She looked confused, surprised, or bothered even. Her expression made me laugh and I looked back at Nick.

"I'm good, no better than both of you apparently." She said in pauses. I tried so hard no to laugh at the scene in front of me because it was priceless. Not that I wanted to make her day or life a living hell but I wanted her to stop being in my business so often. She did not need to keep tabs on me anymore. It was excessive.

Nick slowly started to put his hand over my shoulders hugging me but I shook him off. Patricia started going off about the get together she wanted to have before and after the game on Saturday and I honestly was not paying any attention to her because all my attention was on Nick's "wandering" hands. He was trying too hard to convince Patricia we were a thing. When I saw his placement of his hand on my knee I put my hand over his and he looked surprised until I pinched him and he removed it. Immediately I returned to finish my sub. I finally returned my attention back to Patrica.

"So are you coming?"

"Uh yeah sure of course."

"Nick how about you?"

"Sure."

"See you Saturday."

Turning to Nick, I said, "You should've said no."
