Chapter 2: Kaboom

The docks at night are quiet, but above everything, head lights are blazing down upon the ground and shipping containers.  A young man with brown hair and blue eyes opens the door to a shipping container and is looking around for any signs of enemies.  When he doesn't see anything out of the ordinary, he glances behind him to see five more guys and a girl with dark hair and eyes.  He motions for them to follow him as they do so, however the girl sticks some sort of device on the inside of the metal storage container before continuing on with the rest of the group.  The others don't even notice her absence because they've already made it deeper inside the shipping container and to discover a large supply of blood bags resting on top of three frozen corpses that are wearing construction worker clothes in a storage freezer.

"Jackpot, boys"  The leader says in triumph.

"Blake--"  One of the boys begins to speak before he's cut off suddenly.

Before anyone can do anything, they hear a noise, and everyone turns to see five vampires standing at the entryway of the storage container.  Just as the leader, Blake, is about to reach for his gun, the first vampire speaks.

"You make a move with our consent, and you're dead.  Now step away from the freezer."  The vampire's threat just makes Blake smirk on arrogance.

"Sorry, but I don't take orders from filthy bloodsuckers."  He snaps in an attempt to be a smartass.  Before anyone can do anything else, Blake takes out a wooden stake and tries to stab the leader, but the vampire just grabs Blake's arm and twists it until he hears a satisfying snap, and then drives the stake into his stomach.  Blake lets out a cry of pain and goes down on his knees, clutching his now broken arm.  In that moment, the vampires begin to fight against the humans.  The girl decides then to take on the leader herself, and he just smirks at her.

"I've always had a thing for killing girls.  This is going to be fun."  He sneers.

The leader charges at the girl, before backhanding her, which makes her head whirl in the other direction from the force of the hit.  The girl looks back at the vampire whose fangs are now exposed upon the sight of blood that is located along the corner of her mouth.  She doesn't hesitate to attack as she grabs his arm and twists it behind his body.  She then plants her foot in his back while pulling on his arm until she hears his shoulder dislocate and the girl uses this as a chance to drive a wooden stake into his unbeating heart.  When he falls to the floor, she looks around to see that her group is being overpowered by the rest of the vampires, and grabs a small canister from within her pack.  She rolls the canister onto the floor and it begins to expel a pale green smoke into the air.  All the vampires instantly start coughing and choking at the vervain gas before they fall to the ground unconscious.  The girl helps Blake to his feet before she calls out to the others in their group.

"Come on, we don't have enough time, let's go."  The others don't hesitate to do as they're told and follow the girl out of the storage container, but before they can even close the container, the girl stops them from doing so.

"Don't close it just yet.  We have to be fast, but we also have to be smart.  Put a couple of oil drums in the crate before you close it."  She instructs them as she's rests Blake on the side of one of the containers before she helps the others put a few oil drums in the container as she'd said to.  When they're done, she tosses a lighter into the shipping container before she closes the door behind them.

"You guys should probably be running by now."

The girl takes out a small remote, and the others begin to run, taking Blake along with them.  The girl jogs to the other side of the docks to take cover before she presses the button and  the device that she attached to the inside of the container explodes.  After the explosion passes, the girl turns the corner to see that the storage container they put the vampires in is being engulfed in a hungry inferno.  The girl gives a satisfied smirk to the sight before she starts to walk away and join the other that have already fled the docks by now.

"They always go out with a bang."

She can't help snicker at her joke, not once looking back at the burning container.
