They'd been sitting in the waiting room for at almost three hours now. Three of the five men from the group that joined Blake at the docks were sitting there, shuffling around nervously in their seats, wondering if Blake was still alive or what Oz would do when he finds out that they snuck out to hunt vampires without his consent. The girl from the docks reenters the waiting room with a bottle of water in her hands. She looks over the rest of her accomplices to see that most of them have already had tehir injuries treated by the doctors. Hunters coming to the hospital after getting wounded from killing vampires or training wasn't new. The Agency had a special deal with some of the willing doctors. The hospital doesn't talk about their under the table business, and the Agency supplies them with insight of whether or not vampires were stealing blood, or just drinking from some of the patients. Believe it or not, hospitals are in fact a popular target when it comes to certain vampires. When the doctor walks in, the girl instantly walks over to receive the news on Blake's recovery.
"How is he, doctor?" The girl asks with concern laced in her voice. The doctor takes a moment to look at some charts before he answers her question.
"Well, I can't say that he's seen worse, but he's definitely going to live, don't worry." This makes the girl let out a sigh that she didn't know she'd been holding in.
"Thank god!" She exclaims before the rest of the group join in her exclamation and relief.
"He'll have to be on bed rest for a couple of months for his injuries to properly heal, but he'll be fine nonetheless. Just make sure he doesn't try to pull anymore stunts like this again."
"Trust me doctor, he won't." The doctor nods his head before he turns to walk away, leaving Riley and the other guys standing alone in the waiting room.
"Hey Riley!"
Riley turns her head to look at one of the boys who has his cellphone in his hands.
"Myers wants to see you ASAP."
Uh-oh, Riley thought to herself.
* * *
Riley makes it back to the headquarters for the Agency and walks in to find Oz and two other men that she doesn't recognize standing in Oz's office.
"Hi Riley. Have a seat." Riley does as Oz tells her to, but she continues to stare at the two other men. They don't seem that bothered by her staring and after a few moments of awkward silence, Oz decides to break the ice.
"So, if I'm to hear correctly, you, my son and three other accomplices went on a raid and didn't inted to notify me that you were leaving without my permission."
Riley looks down for a second to avert Oz's gaze before she looks back up at him.
"Well, is that true?" He asks her expectantly. Riley knows that his tone means he is waiting on her answer.
"Yes sir, the allegations you have just listed are indeed true." Riley tries to keep her voice from wavering and dares to keep eye contact with Oz who just glares at her. He just nods before he continues on.
"It was also reported that Blake was injured during this little escapade?"
"Yes." Is all that Riley says.
"Is he alright?"
"He's in the hospital resting as we speak." Oz just nods his head once at this.
"That's good to hear." Whether or not Oz actually cares for his son's wellbeing isn't really known at the moment, but if he does, then he's doing very well at hiding his emotions. As Oz is processing this information, there's a moment of silence before Riley speaks up again, this time with a more certain tone.
